Zombies Need Love Too: And Still Another Lio Collection. From the Haunted Crypt of Unknown Horrors. The collection is filled with dark humor and lots of weird and outlandish characters. While Li appears to be an ordinary boy in an ordinary world, he interacts on a regular basis with a variety of monsters, a giant squid, aliens, zombies, ghosts, witches, spiders, and a giant snake. He sleeps with a vampire bunny doll. Some of the jokes might be too dark for younger children or may fly over their heads. Then again, references to grown-up things such as riding a bomb Dr.

Strangelove-style might be aimed at any parents who are reading this book with their children. The artwork alternates between black and white and brightly colored cartoons, and Tatulli like Bill Watterson before him skillfully evokes a mix of cuteness and gruesomeness in his work. This book will probably be most appreciated by readers who are already fans of Li, but it might also serve as an introduction to dark-humor fans.

Mark Tatulli, who was first known for his Heart of the City comic strip, took on Lio as an outlet for his dark and twisted humor. In addition to his cartooning experience, Tatulli is also an accomplished filmmaker and animator, and is the recipient of three Emmy awards for his television work. Mark currently resides in New Jersey with his wife, son, and two daughters. His children are the true joy of his life and the inspiration for much of his comic artwork.

It did not disappoint! I loved it so much I think I ordered at least 6 other books out of his collection and I am sharing them with my family. A little craziness needs to be encouraged. Mark Tatulli has done it again, with our favorite little boy genius. Get ready for belly laughs and snickers galore, and be ready to share them with someone close by.

I wait with great anticipation for each new installment of his unique view of the world, sometimes skewed, sometimes all too clear.

Wonderful little book, and has a permanent place in my library. Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. The comics are for the most part hilarious, but every once and a while there is a little hidden message pertaining to things like treatment of animals or nature. This book was as good as all the others. Some of the books are being produced in a smaller sized format. I do not like that. It's like getting half the comics for the same price. Mark Tatulli is like a modern day charles adams.

I will buy the next book produced but it may be through a merchant so that I can save some money. Lio is a nicely weird kid This is a great book for the boys and men with a strange sense of humor Exactly what I expected. Both my boys LOVE these books!
