Finns Destiny
When thinking about this pairing we have to think about the Yoda with Poe2 pairing which will give you access to a two cost plot plus we already know that Poe is a great character with an impressive special of his own. That deck may end up being better than anything we brainstorm but sometimes the less obvious things end up being better. On average Yoda is a better character than Luke but with Finn specifically the decision is much closer. Luke has an extra health, a die that helps Finn resolve his modifier and the pair has more damage upside.
I wanted a battlefield that was both incentivizing but would only be good for certain kinds of decks. I fear this deck might not be fast enough but with some ambush weapons and a big focus on range damage sides we are faster than most decks.
Dry Fields plays well with our plan of playing upgrades and mitigation while not being great for decks that want to save up money. If Luke is going long then there is a very good chance that your opponent will catch a brutal Force Misdirection. Camouflaged Rifle is a card that I dismissed early but when I realized that with the battlefield it hits 3 damage fifty percent of the time I decided to give it another look. You could go harder on the claim train and play something like Planetary Uprising but if you end up in a match up where you are slower having too many cards like that will be a liability.
She has a better die, her ability and low health makes the decision between going for her or Finn a real one. With her ability you can load up Finn a little more without the worry of wasting the investment. This is important since it makes a card like Hit and Run much more powerful- in the previous list I decided against Hit and Run on the grounds that I wanted to load up Luke in anticipation of the late game.
The decision of where your opponent should attack first is a real one and if your opponent chooses incorrectly they will flat out lose the game. If you can get to 3 resources and they decided to got for Ketsu a Second Chance may seal up a game quickly.

The yellow upgrades are stronger for range compared to the blue ones which are non existent. Blue gives you access to arguably better events and Force Illusion. Hasty Exit is an incredible card when you are fast enough and Easy Pickings turns God rolls into cinnamon rolls. The color pairings both have their strengths and weaknesses and its going to take some time to flesh out which will be better.
This tells me that Finn should have costed closer to because TBH 9's actually feels a little under costed as well for his ability. If Finn was 11 health, I could at least see him being sort of viable for a blowout deck, using his ability to get the max amount of red dice for It's a Trap and running Never Tell Me the Odds.
But at 10 health he's fragile as well as expensive, and that just doesn't work for me. This is my huge beef. I think Finn is the worst character in the game. Grievous and Luminara are knocking at his door, but Finn takes the cake.

He can never be worth his cost unless the designers go out of their way to TRY and fix him by sneaking in a backdoor combo that only works with a red villain weapon or vehicle and a hero only card. Riot Baton on K2 would be bonkers. It is really is sad. Even FFG admits that they got Finn wrong.

He needs a re-do. He is such an important character in the new movies. He needs just that 1 villain card to shine. And considering that in the interview they said that EaW will focus heavily on supports vehicles Great thing about a CCG Just like they have already done with Darth Vader. I'm with you in believing that FGG should have Finn on the fast track for being issued a new character card. And its elite cost should be 12! We need our Poemance dangitt!! I'd love to hear that in context from Lukas.
Not that I don't believe you, I'd just like to hear his thoughts. I heard Lukas talking about this also. He's on one of the podcasts that they're doing live during Worlds, and he's discussing how they costed Finn with a "whoops tax", essentially. It's in case Finn accidentally finds a combo that they didn't see coming, which is like On one of them it will prominently say that they have Lukas in house for an interview, and during that episode, at Worlds, he touches on the subject. The Poemance is always welcome on my table! That elite combo would actually be really fun to play as either melee, ranged, or some whacky mix dmg!
Everyone never said that. As for your second questions With the current card set, Pinned Down really should be a 0 cost card, but FFG has given it a cost of 1.

I think the weakest part of this game right now is Support, but especially vehicle, cards. Pinned Down has me hoping set number 3 is looking to fix this. So you think there is an equivalent comparison between people's views about a character prior to its release that was proven wrong within the first set itself and people's views about a character two sets into its existence which have been completely validated? So even if Pinned Down and vehicles are great that doesn't make Finn good. For Finn to get better there needs to be a red villain vehicle that is somehow better in hero then it is in villain.
Maybe if he could take red villain events he'd have some life.
