A Touch of Sin (Out of Bounds Book 1)

Lists with This Book. This second installment in R. Intense for the most part and so very gripping from the first page, this second book in the series was hotter than I had anticipated. Needless to say, every aspect of the story was done really well. Brie has always been a hardworking girl. Even if she has already won different major competitions, she wants to win at the Olympics more than anything. Growing up with a single parent, Brie knows how hard it must have been for her mother to raise her, especially since gymnastics is expensive.

She wants to win for herself, but mostly she wants to win for her family. Brie arrives in Seattle to practice with other four girls and there she meets her new coach, Erik Winter. No one knows what happened with him back then and why he decided to retire from the gymnastics world. However, everyone expects for him to fail. But this task becomes harder and harder when one of his gymnasts constantly mocks him pushing his buttons like no other.

Around me she was a ticking time bomb, but then again, she had lit my fuse as well. But how can you fight a sexual tension so tick like the one between them? How can they remember that one is the coach and the other the gymnast when the chemistry between them is off the charts? I really enjoyed this entertaining sports romance.

The pace of the story was perfect. Maybe because once upon a time I used to love this sport. The two main characters were fantastically developed. Brie was an endearing, relatable character I loved from the beginning. I loved the fact that she wanted so badly to offer her mother a better life, but I have to say her stubbornness and also her immaturity in some way got on my nerves a little as the story progressed. I have to say her outspoken ways were entertaining as hell, but I would have liked her to be a little more mature at times.

He was too young, too handsome, too much. I have to say Erik was a little bit too much at times. Obviously I understood why he tried to fight his attraction toward Brie, but I think he exaggerated at times. He was cruel, distant, chilly and an arrogant prick…in the beginning. However, I loved his possessiveness and his challenging ways. As the story unfolded he proved that he can be thoughtful, considerate and even a little bit of sweet and eventually..

The dynamic between them was crazy in the best possible way, so yeah the chemistry between them was scorching hot. It goes without saying the sexual tension between them was so tick at times you could have cut it with a knife. These two were combustible together. So deliciously sexy and entertaining! I really enjoyed the camaraderie between the girls in team USA gymnastics and the entertaining dialogue between them.

It was fun watching them interact with each other, especially since they had different personalities. The epilogue was sweet and hopeful and I simply loved it! All in all, 'Out of Bounds' was a wonderful contemporary sports romance and a great addition to the series. Grey in exchange for an honest review! Thank you so much, Rachel! View all 71 comments. Out of Bounds stand-alone, book 2. Settling the Score Book 2: Out of Bounds Out of Bounds stand-alone opens up to Olympic gymnast and American favorite, Brie Watson traveling to meet up with her Olympic team for the last month of training before the Olympics.

Coach, gym owner and former gymnast Erik Winter has recently taken over the team and much is resting on his shoulders. Their first meeting is a fiasco setting them off to a rocky start… But in the gym they connect, like magic. And their combative bantering soon becomes sexually charged moments of not being able to keep their hands off each other nor their clothes on.

En route to the Olympics becomes a journey of self-reflection and truths. Six words to describe Erik Winter: Reckless, private, flawed, moody, conflicted and intense. Six words to describe Brie Watson: Combative, snarky, fierce, focused, competitive and impulsive. Out of Bounds, told from dual POVs, is a mixture of forbidden romance, tempestuous relationship and two lost souls finding themselves and each other. It ends perfectly with a heartwarming epilogue. She was a beautiful little fantasy, the kind that kept you up at night, not the kind that extended into reality.

Things can get really aw Aaaaaaand it's live!! Things can get really awkward.

If we weren't throwing knives, we were falling into each other's arms. Grey 's steamiest book. It gave a whole new definition to the enemies-turn-to-lovers concept because Brie and Erik were enemies and lovers at the same time. Their war began the very first day they met, and the lines between right and wrong were blurry. Erik was the Olympic team's coach, and he wanted to prove that he was worthy of his title.

Brie on the other hand was the gymnast, her life goal was to win not one, not two, but six medals and nothing could get in her way. The relationship between them was non-existant. It was strained , and it varied between insults and constant bickering to hot and angry, desperate sex in the most unlikely places. No one wanted to surrender. It was a struggle for power and control.

No matter how hard I tried to resist him during my waking hours, the moment I closed my eyes, he was all I saw. Erik managed to corrupt Brie because she wanted to be corrupted, be desired, she wanted to be seen. Even though I found her immature at some points, even annoying, I can't deny that she was the perfect match to Erik. To scolding, cold and wicked Erik, who was obviously so delicious that I'd give up cupcakes if that meant I could get a taste of him.

Their story was intoxicating. Their scenes hotter than hell. They gave you goosebumps. It was the first time we witnessed this side of R. Grey 's pen, and I loved the ride! And I'm ready for more! First of all, I am a very open-minded person, I read all sorts of books and I have no problem with different tropes used in them.

Grey might be on drugs. What other explanation is acceptable? I would've fucking run and turn him to the police. Never in my life have I encountered a worse hero than in this book.

And I liked the first one so much that when I saw that the second one's about gymnastics, I almost screamed from happiness. I didn't feel that special atmosphere like the author created in the first book and, honestly, I was very disturbed with the fact that these two don't talk to each other like normal human beings. There are no explanations for anything they've done so it's quite normal that the readers can't form a functional connection with them. In short, the characters are stupid idiots who completely deserve each other, now that I think about it.

Oh, also, you're fictional, but I really hope you accidentally fall from the roof and die Erik. View all 11 comments. Jul 06, Polly added it Shelves: Honestly, I'm still pretty fired up. Look Erik was a asshole. Half the book he was a asshole who couldn't make up his mind. Not only that but Brie was super immature for her age. My breaking point I will put in a spoiler tag below and the fact that the author blasts a reviewer on her FB page? It's obvious from the first minute that he has slept with the teacher before.

He then once again gets Bri all worked up sexually knowing he wasn't going to follow through. He then allows the yoga teacher to see him fooling around with Bri and invites her to join. I do not like reading it and I especially don't like reading it when I feel like it's thrown in for shocks sake. The fact that this happened to someone who really didn't even think of being with a woman is disgusting. It felt forced on her to me.

Asshole Erik gets her so wound up that she just wants to get off period. She doesn't care at that moment who does it. To me that is taking away her will. Will some people find this erotic? I'm not one of them. This felt like a direct rip off of Corrupt's Pen Douglas menage scene. View all 21 comments. I loved it so much and I didn't want to finish it!!

With this book Rachel took sexy to another level!! The story is intense, the writing flawless, the characters fantastic and the scenes between them super hot,yes yes more than the other books!! I love every part of this story!! It's like an explosion everytime they are together! Brie is a strong heroine and I could relate with her! I love her personality! And Erik is mysterious, stubborn, and sexy!

At times, I wondered if he knew me better than I knew myself. It felt like he'd split open my chest and pulled out my heart, watchingit beat for him-only him. I highly recommend it to everyone!!! If you are looking for a fast paced,well-written,hot and intense story this is perfect!!! View all 19 comments. Jul 30, Stacey is Sassy rated it liked it Shelves: To start with it felt really, really long.

Also, I'm all for seeing a hero at his worst and then gradually seeing the light shine through and hearts and flowers appear, but Erik with a k is a douchewaffle. That douchewaffle status stuck with him till nearly the end which is way too long for me. I don't expect perfection from my heroes but I also don't expect Well I don't expect perfection from my heroes but I also don't expect for the heroine to be questioning his feelings for her justifiably until the end of the book.

We get dual POV's, so we know what he's thinking sometimes but he never really lets her know his true feeling until the end. Brie is a 20 years old and gymnastics has been her life. She's heading to the Olympics to get gold. Yes, she wants to win, but her main reason is the prize money to pay her mother back for all the sacrifices she had to make for her sport. Brie has a single-minded focus This is unfortunately when Brie's brain goes on holidays. I'm going to put it out there that this chick was too young and all her wrong decisions were made because of her immaturity and her lack of life experience.

I honestly felt like this girl was in an abusive relationship. I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be erotic but it was just WRONG and unfortunately Erik with a k never really recovered in my eyes from it. Erik was in a position of responsibility as coach of the women's gymnastics team and there is no way that his relationship was appropriate.

Yes, Brie was legally able, but he admitted very loudly that she was too young for him. But it was LOVE, you all say. Well, that sure came up pretty darn quickly and I had no reason to think these two who fought continuously felt anything but lust. Sorry to say, but Out of Bounds was not as good as the first book in the series. I was disappointed that the scenes at the Olympics were right near the end and didn't really encompass the experience as well as I hoped.

I knew that there was a chance that I'd be upset by the extreme training and that the coach would be all gruff and cranky, but that wasn't really my problem in the end. I'm all for escaping reality, but this just seemed to turn my tummy. Anyways, this is just my humble opinion. Lots of other reviewers have loved it, so definitely take the time to read their reviews and maybe it will work for you. To see more of my reviews, fashion, food and pervathons View all 35 comments. ARC provided by author Brie Watson is s 20 yr. Brie is planning to train in Austin for the next month before heading to Rio de Janeiro for the games.

Suddenly Team USA's coach for the last 30 yrs. Brie arrives at Coach Erik Winters home, where she will be staying for the next few weeks. They get off to a rocky start from the beginning. First off she was expecting the usual coach in his 50's, not a 29 yr. Erik and Brie clash from day one. She's usually mild mannered, but he brings out the feisty headstrong side of her. She stood up to him, when nobody else would. The fighting began to be a turn on to both of them. One issue is they were too similar. Brie was seriously lusting over her hot coach, but tried to act like he didn't phase her, when truly she was so affected anytime he even entered a room.

She craved his attention and his touch. They both tried to focus on training, but eventually their desire for one another becomes out of control. Soon they are completely consumed by each other. No, she wanted to be desired. Had anyone ever touched her the way she wanted to be touched? As Brie begins seeing glimpses of a softer side to Erik, she starts falling harder for him. They have to decide if it's enough to try for something more, or if they will walk away from each other when the games are over and they leave Rio. I loved this book so much!

Erik ends up being the USA Gymnastic's Team Olympic coach after the previous coach has a medical emergency and reluctantly retires. Brie is gymnast with a history that makes her popular with American fans and the best shot Erik has to prove that he knows what he's doing. There's also a strong attraction between these two that gets pushed away with animosity and snark. I've got to say that there were times where Erik wasn't very nice to Brie, or the other girls for that matter, but I d 2.

At one point, though, after the girls had ruined a date for him, the things he did cross over into that side for a bit. While he eventually pulled back, it left a bad taste. It didn't fit what was going on at the time, nor who or where I thought the characters were. As individuals, I liked what motivated Brie and the fact that there was some depth to Erik underneath his prickliness. Together, though they had good chemistry, I didn't like how they were with one another until almost the end when Erik realized how he felt.

All in all a read that has great potential with both good execution at times and missed opportunities. H tries to date OW while fighting the attraction between he and the h. There is a sharing scene.

Nope, this is angsty, push and pull, enemies to lovers Romance that will have your toes curling. Sound up your alley? The team is getting ready for Rio when they learn they are inheriting a new coach last minute, enter Erik Winter. Erik is strict, brooding, and basically comes across as a giant ass. Bring on Brie and her fiery, take no shit attitude and you've got a recipe for disaster. From their very first meeting these two are under each other's skin and the fight for the upper hand never ceases. But what they never anticipated is how much they would like the fight. She thought she could keep nipping at me and I wouldn't bite back.

He had been right the night before - I did like his attention on me, even if he was about to rip my head off. I loved their constant bickering, the way they challenged one another, and the chemistry and tension between them was insane to watch. I wanted them to just get it on already! It's not all fun and games when genuinely real feelings get involved, though. With two strong personalities such as Brie and Erik, who will be the first to lower their guard? Grey novel I know I'm going to get characters with depth, a strong and entertaining plot, humor that is all Rachel, and a toe dip in the steam pot.

Or in the case of this book, a visit to the sauna. She just has that perfect formula down to a T. Grey has been one of my favorite go-to authors for quite some time now and she just gets better and better with each new release. If you love the NA and Sports Romance genres, then this series is an absolute must!

However, McKenzie, who owns and runs the business refuses since Jewell is so new and hasn't been properly trained. He feels that he can train her to meet his specific The rest becomes pretty standard cookie cutter BDSM with a few twists and turns thrown in. I felt like the end of this book ended in a bit of a cliffy, even though Blake and Jewell's story seemed to be complete, it opened the door to other characters.

So many things about this book were over the top and ridiculous. Fine, yet another virgin 20 something year old who is training to be an escort Yet another story that rushes into the sex. What bothers me most about this, was the cruelty. Cruel, verbally abusive "alphas" are just.. And Blake was needlessly cruel. As so many are in this genre.

Reminiscent of Fifty Shades airplane ride and all I mainly kept reading just to see where the plot concerning Jewell and her little brother's situation would go and what would happen. I'm not really sure, at this point, if I will continue with the next story, especially if it will cost me any dough to get it haven't checked yet. The writing was not bad; a minimal few grammatical errors and a couple of typos. The sex scenes were sensual at times, quick and ha 2.

The sex scenes were sensual at times, quick and hard at others and hot for the most part. My problem was the complete rudeness and unneeded snide, cruel comments and statements the MC Blake made throughout the story just to intentionally keep her at arms length. He wants her to open up and be honest and yet will not share his own past hurts and issues. She tells him what's going on, he doesn't believe her and is a complete ass to her about what she reveals to him.

Yeah, eff that noise Okay, so I maybe the concept is that I have read this book from somewhere. But, its a completely different book. I like the rationalization, the struggle within one's self. Definitely a page turner for me. I'm onto the next one. Too much her other series. I feel like I'm reading about the same characters. Mar 18, B. Mc rated it liked it Shelves: While I enjoyed it, there was little original about the plot; gorgeous, desperate girl forced to sell herself, and rich guy rescues her which will be the conclusion in part 3.

Again a book is written, then 'chopped' into bits to make more money. I was in Tesco Supermarket today, and browsed their books. I saw one that interested me, got out my tablet to check it out on Amazon. I laughed when I saw this book had also been chopped into three parts. Now that's just bizarre!! It's like some macabre game that Amazon is playing but losing the plot? The book is well written, with good characters, and I do want to read the next parts to see how things develop. It would have made more impact with me had it been sold as one book, which is what it is!

Jewell Weston is homeless, jobless and desperate. Her whole decision making process revolves around money and the ability to provide a safe, secure home for her 10 year old brother in the eyes of the court system. Blake Knight is cold, obscenely rich and a Dominant. Given a membership to Jewell Weston is homeless, jobless and desperate. Given a membership to the exclusive Relinquish Control, Blake pays a visit and ultimately chooses Jewell for a one-week assignment. But once their passion is unfurled, Jewell and Blake discover that what they are feeling for each other maybe something that should be explored after the week is over.

Can both of them move past their fears, especially Blake, and accept Jewell with her secrets and her motivation for becoming an escort? This book is a cliffhanger. Melody Anne leaves the reader wanting more—wanting to know what happens next. I really want to know what the hell Blake is going to do now that he knows the truth! These characters are so good together. Blake bounces back and forth between the Dom in control and the man underneath the mask.

  • The sex scenes are HOT—panty melting hot. I am really at odds on how to rate this book. I have been back and forth between 3 to 4 stars. Finally settling on 3. I liked it, but there could have been more. I understood Jewell's motivation for joining Relinquish Control. When you are at your wits end and desperation is taking root you will do anything you deem necessary to survive. What I didn't like was the tactic Madeline took to get the girls who work for her.

She seems totally heartless, even though I could tell there is more to her th I am really at odds on how to rate this book. She seems totally heartless, even though I could tell there is more to her than meets the eye, but it seems that since she is a woman she would have been treating this ladies with a bit more respect. I also didn't like that the women didn't have the option to refuse the men, especially since it is very likely they would end up with some very sadistic men along the way. That whole thing left a sour taste in my mouth. Madeline, in my opinion, is just a more expensive clad pimp.

I also understood what made Blake have the distrust that he harbors toward women. What I didn't get is why he felt the need to throw Jewells occupation in her face, especially when he was the one blurring the lines between them. Anyway, I went into this thinking that this book would be the end of this couple's journey and was disappointed to get there and realize that a cliffhanger waited instead.

That being said, if I can find a way to borrow the next book to get the conclusion of Blake and Jewell's story I will continue on with the series. My Review Jewell Weston is intelligent and well qualified so why can she not find a job? She must obtain employment if she ever expects to get her brother out of the foster care system. Homeless and dirty she is approached by a women offering her employment.

Only thing is this is not your ordinary job. A deal she cannot afford to turn down. Spend one week with him and he will give her enough money to more than pay three months worth of rent and finally be reunited with her brother. Little does Blake know just how inexperienced she is. He is taken back by her disobedience and spunk. No one is that unselfish. His brother thinks he is a fool and in over his head.

When the week comes to an end will he be able to let her go? Will she want to stay? Well I had mixed feeling based on reviews but I loved it. Jewell is homeless and trying to get custody of her brother Justin now that their mother has passed, but the problem is she has no job, no place to live or any money.

She's approached by a woman offering to help and at this point Jewell has 2 months to get everything she needs to get Justin back from foster care. Blake is only interested in his brothers and business, when he comes face to face with Jewell he has to have her Free download. Blake is only interested in his brothers and business, when he comes face to face with Jewell he has to have her, to break her and show her he doesn't need a woman to take his money, but Jewell isn't like that and as her first client will realise Jewell is innocent. Can you fall for a man who is cold and closed off in just a week.

This story although not original, was great, story and plot were good, the characters are good, I enjoyed the thoughts from each character. I felt sorry for Jewell and Blake, both leading different lives but both screwed up in their own way.
