You may not be able to stop the mistakes that people make but you can give yourself a much better chance if you have done the proper training. One piece of equipment that would almost certainly have saved Pritchard's life was the 'battlefield beacon', worn by soldiers to allow commanders to see the whereabouts of all their troops during a firefight.
