If you don't want the cheap t-shirts, bars and hawkers around Phuket, then head for Koh Racha - great 4 star resort to just chill. Sure, there's not a lot to do if you're a party animal but when my wife and I stayed, virtually everyone were in pairs with only the occasional single or family with sub teenagers.

If you want to do more there's tennis, snorkelling, petanque, boat trips and the Hotel have daily classes in Batik making or cooking if you choose plus exercise classes and barbq's etc plus there's free nibbles every evening, 1 free drink in the bar, library, good internet access in every room plus a PC in the lobby for all to use. All in all, having travelled extensively, we found this to be of very good value for a chillout week and quite good value.

On every level the hotel and the staff, from the serenity to the location, the cleanliness to the clever architecture - from the Boat and Bag handling staff - to the General Manager - the Racha is a winner! Congratulations to the General Manager for his participation in raising the service standards to that of the highest in Thailand.

Congratulations to the staff for being so wonderful and helpful, so ready to do anything to make the experience better, all the time with a smile, and no task to hard! I recently spent my honeymoon at the Racha in a villa [best on island!!!

The beach is scenic, the day trippers do not spoil the event, and there are staff smiling at your beck and call. The restaurants are close by [ I read a review that complained about the walk - no idea what they are talking about] and the food and service is brilliant across the board. Between the three restaurants - there is traditional Thai food, as well as more contemporary western dishes. Again - thanks to all the staff for making our honeymoon what is was - perfect!! We stayed at the RAcha for our Honeymoon for 6 nights and were completely blown away by the quality and service of the hotel.

Staying in a pool villa is a must if possible especially villa which has beautiful views over the beach from every room!!!! The resort seems so spacious and they do many great activities, canapes and cocktail parties for the guests to mingle if they want free of charge, which is a really nice touch.

There is 3 restaurants that offer a range of cuisines for all price ranges. Rooms are maticulously cleaned and well presented. The staff are the most friendly and helpful staff of any hotel i have ever stayed in.
