Marco completed numerous architectural and interior design projects. Marco exports his know-how abroad and is one of the few Italian designers who still manage to build in the United Arab Emirates. What got you interested in design? What always drew me to design was its need to be linked to not only formal and functional, but also semantic and social, research and experimentation. I am interested in the overall sense an object or product expresses, along with their ability to intercept aesthetic and performance expectations expressed by individuals or society in general.
Which sectors would you like to experiment in? I want to always experiment with new forms, new functionalities; I am attracted to simpler and more basic objects, but also products with a high technological charge. I believe there are new spaces for experimentation in home design just as in the design of new orbital stations. The entire artificial world can and must be designed better. At the moment what project or design do you dream of doing? The list would be endless, but my design portfolio still lacks a bridge not necessarily across the straits, but possibly of the same length and a church and, again relating to architecture and design, a permanent station on the moon and a train: I think I would be able to design them brilliantly.
