Bloodlines (Sanguis Noctis Book 3)

Then we got to the final quarter and things fizzled out so badly before ending with a final, contrived setup for the next book that I just had to downgrade it a bit. Unfortunately, after it seems that the major conflict is resolved with a stern talking to really?

Oh yeah, and sex of course. Not that it had been without its problems, but I much prefer when the schmoop is woven into the action bits as it was for the first three quarters of the book.

This felt tacked on and, at novella length all on its own, way too long. I was also distracted by view spoiler [something Victor sees in a vision, but which is never addressed again. I kept waiting for it to play a role later on, but it was just dropped. Even so, I liked this better than book 2. In addition to plenty of Jed and Redford, I was glad to have Victor back and the Lewis boys have possibility. The scene is set, somewhat clumsily, for the next book and I will be right there with them.

With this one you get more of Redford and Jed which I absolutely loved! I think that I felt like this mainly because I was still not a huge fan of Victor at all. Other then those parts I really loved this book! This time Redford is asked to go to the Gray lady's pack With this one you get more of Redford and Jed which I absolutely loved!

Blood in the Sand

This time Redford is asked to go to the Gray lady's pack to ask for help because Randall's brother Anthony was sick and human medicine was not working. Redford in this book is having a hard time dealing with his wolf voice in his head and the instincts he was having that were making him violent. They all together helped the pack deal with the human hunters that were hurting wolves.

This time Jed is having a hard time because he feels like he is keeping Redford back from being the wolf he needs to be, so they have more troubles as a couple in this book. The way they work together though is just awesome! I really liked Randall's brothers Anthony and Edwin. I kind of hope that Edwin is the soul mate that Victor was talking about for David in the last book Blood in the Sand. You get more action with this one which I loved, angst and sweet moments between Redford and Jed.

All together I really liked most of this book! I would definitely recommend this series! I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Inked Rainbow Reads. Apr 22, Chanty rated it liked it Shelves: Normally I complain to my boyfriend about the books never being long enough. Well not this one. It is over pages. Now you would think I would be absolutely happy.

Yeah, not so much. Everything between Jed and Red was great, but Victor and Randall were just boring. And the book felt very repetitive. Red attacks Jed because of some animal instinct thing. We already had that in the previous book. Jed decides Red is better off without him. So there is the obligatory break up, which only last a d Normally I complain to my boyfriend about the books never being long enough. So there is the obligatory break up, which only last a day.

Thankfully there are others that convince Red and Jed that they should fight for each other. I just wanted to smack them. Victor is self destructive, so he doesn't want to be with Randall because it would be to boring. Even though he has seen the future and knows that he and Randall can have a wonderful and happy live together.

Yeah, Victor is a real catch. And than there is Anthony Randall's brother. Or maybe I should say saint Anthony. It is repeated many times how great Anthony is and how very terrible his condition is. All in all this book felt a little too full. This story could have easily been told in pages. So no 4 stars, even though Jed and Red deserve it. They remain one of the best couples out there.

On one had it's the continuing story of Jed and Redford, but it's also the story of Victor the half blood Medusa and Randall the werewolf they rescued in Cairo - add into the mix the rest of Randall's troubled family, the clannish wolf pack run by The Grey Lady and a host of hunters, half bloods and of course Knievel the cat.

What you have is a good story, but Received as a gift from my Secret Santa 3. What you have is a good story, but an awful lot of it over pages - and some of which could be lost with some tighter editing I will be continuing with the series as I want to know what happens and I am just hoping the Victor's ex, David, is not actually behind it all! Nov 29, Duncan Husky rated it really liked it Shelves: It reminds me of some TV shows I've seen - an overarching plot that runs the entire season, with smaller digressions as each episode.

I love this book, mind you - the characters are fantastic, Jed is not nearly the unrelateable a-hole he was in previous books, and even Victor becomes sympathetic. Redford is, as always, my favorite. I wish we co 4. I wish we could have seen more from his point of view! There are moments of pure magic here, the moved me to tears in their sweetness. There were also passages that had me laughing out loud. So why not a solid 5-star rating? The pacing of the book seemed off, and it made it a more difficult read than it needed to be overall. That said, the moment the sequel comes out I am buying it!

Jan 11, EmeArsh rated it it was amazing. The scene where Jed left was so heart wrenching and beautifully written. Love Red and Jed. Though wish there was more of Jed, he's honestly so funny. Randall and Victor's love story wasn't as strong as I would have wished for. But well, there's another book coming. Missed David a lot, the end was exactly what I expected.

Edwin's definitely for him. Want to see David happy. Sometimes in the book, I thought 'Was that even necessary? But good book, all in all. Love all the detail. Jul 03, CB rated it it was amazing Shelves: This is a really entertaining series. A total of 3 books in the series now and I recommend all 3. You could read the first one only but they should be read in order after that or 2 and 3 will be hard to follow.

Plus, they are all worth it. I love that all the characters are so unique - perfectly imperfect - my favorite kind!

Bloodlines (Sanguis Noctis #3) by Robin Saxon

Dec 07, Beth doesn't write enough reviews rated it really liked it Shelves: I enjoyed this one so much better!! Yes there are still some continuity issues and the author tends to wander off at times but the characters are so richly dimensional and the plot continued at a pace I was able to overlook a few minor annoyances. Jed and Red are even better together, I'm really beginning to like Victor and think Randall is perfect for him. I have decided I want an Edwin of my very own and would move the earth itself to help Anthony.

I cried real tears here more than once as well I enjoyed this one so much better!! I cried real tears here more than once as well as laughed and giggled. I'm really looking forward to the next installment! Aug 26, Saskie- rated it liked it Shelves: This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. It started great and then it went very soup-operish I hope in that very much: This is the toughest book in the trilogy to read. Jed loves Red so damn much, and it's hard to watch him believe that he's handled their relationship and Red's shifterness badly.

And I imagine it's pretty accurate that if there were shape shifters, humans would hunt them down and try to kill them. There's a cliffhanger at the end. And I swear I've read a fourth book in this series, but I can't find it anywhere. This was my second time reading the trilogy. Nov 15, Sarah rated it it was amazing Shelves: They are one of my favorite couples and this book deals a lot with their relationship. We are also introduced to some new characters, Edwin and Anthony Randall's brothers.

There is a lot going on in this book. I'm absolutely blown away by the creativity of Saxon and Kidwell. Their ability to create a world filled with a variety of supernatural, and human, characters, all with distinct personalities is fantastic. The humor tops the whole book off. May 05, Rachel Naughton rated it it was amazing.

Again not as good as the first but still a lovely continuation in this series. Jed, Redford, and Victor join the Lewises as they set out to find the Gray Lady, legendary leader of the largest wolf pack in existence, who may be able to help. Jed is abruptly faced with what it means to be human in a world rife with the supernatural, and the challenges keep piling up: All things considered, Jed wishes fishing was the only thing he had to look forward to. The Bride Wore Blue Jeans. Nothing But the Truth. Watching him as his illness progressed and his frustration was written extremely well. Then there is Edwin, the younger brother. I am head over heels in love with Edwin. He loves playing with the other wolves of the pack and he is not able to sit around for long.

He has to be in wolf form running around in the woods. He is a treat and I cannot wait to read his story someday. The Gray Lady was interesting. She cares only for her wolves and her pack and makes it clear that humans are lesser beings, something that does not go over well for Jed — the only human of the bunch. This book is several stories at once. There is the ongoing relationship of Jed and Red. Victor and Randall start to come together only to pull away again and again. There are also issues with the past that both Randall and Victor must overcome in order to have any type of relationship in the future.

Even with the serious subjects covered, there is a lot of humor in this book. But to see him melt when Red so much as gets a scratch? As different as they are, they are perfect together. Victor and Randall as well, though I am reserving judgment on them until the next book. I like them both but I can see them having a difficult road ahead of them before they will have what Jed and Redford have.

Jed chased a lot of monsters. Real now, and the all-too-human kind. He was brash and he was bold, and he never flinched. He never backed down. Redford was the one goddamn thing that made him feel safe. Suffice it to say that it is an outstanding book and a great addition to the Sanguis Noctis series. There is a cliffhanger ending and one I expected and was waiting on.

While it concerns me to see where the authors are going with that particular part of the story, I have no doubt that I will enjoy it as much as I have the first three books. There is a lot left undone and more questions than answers in some cases. I am fine with that as I know they will all be addressed in future books.

I will be eagerly awaiting every new book in this series. However, they are not always traditional and they may or may not end with the HEA one expects and hopes for.
