Sorry, but that never appealed me. I want the heroine to show some resistance. She shows the perfect amount of resistance. And I loved Reid and Zane. This is the kind of escape I seek from books. Sep 14, sweet rated it it was amazing. So I am an avid reader. Previously, the longest I'd gone without reading was maybe a week or 2. For some reason, I went into a serious slump this year from mid July to mid Sept. I did not read at all and nothing held my interest. I thought, well this is it, guess being a reader was just a phase.

Then I noticed this book by an author who in the past has been a hit or miss for me. I do not like menage stories and mostly avoid them but the synopsis intrigued me. I started reading it and could not p So I am an avid reader.

I started reading it and could not put it done. The story was seriously HOT and the heroes were so freak'n awesome. Usually in a menage story the h relents pretty quickly and it turns into a porno. This book was so different. The h throughout the book was shocked at the lengths the heroes went to have her and wasn't sure she wanted to be part of the relationship.

Her struggle was portrayed very accurately. Plus, I really liked that the heroes themselves did not want to share her with each other and were so jealous and possessive. My absolute favorite parts were when the heroes thought the h was leaving them or had left; they lost their minds. It was in these moments you see their utter desperation to have her.

The h was great! Nothing annoying about her which is a first for me since I can be very picky about a h. I loved everything about this book and bookmarked several parts so I can read them again. In Back to Black, we read as Everly is pregnant- not sure to which brother though. The two brothers Reid and Zane are busy trying to outwit the other as they both want her to love the other more. Can they work together in harmony or will Everly threaten to leave them?

This was a quick read, and I have to admit at moments - I was a little unsure how her relationship was with the brothers, but it seemed to work. I did love the kiwi reference in there of Xena the Warrior Princess as being from New Zealand myself this made me smile. For those who don't know Xena was filmed in New Zealand. I also loved the epilogue with her father involved. This made me smile as it showed deep down he did weirdly care for his daughter. She finds out they w I was able to receive this book through NetGalley. She finds out they were brothers when they hold her captive as their lover. I'm happy Everly was able to submit to them. Yes, the blurb states: She is straight up raped by both brothers simultaneously and repeatedly while clearly begging for them not to while being 4 months pregnant. These two brothers in their crazy heads think they are being sweet when they are totally creepy and unequivocally mentally disturbed.

The scenes I read would definitely not be described as "slightly non-consensual". I think she finally suffers from Stockholm Syndrome. The story does have a happy ending like the author states, but again I think all three by the end are warped. It did not evoke any sexy feelings from me. It was a little on the disturbing side. But I found it really hard to follow along, the sentence, paragraph and chapter structure made it hard to read. I felt like I was reading more of an outline especially at the beginning than an actual completed novel. And I was not expecting the whole Stockholm syndrome thing from the synopsis.

I f I am new to Katerina Winters, so I am not sure if this is typical of her writing style or not. I found the whole plot creepy and very underdeveloped. The only thing that I felt was done well was the sex, and even that seemed odd at times considering the whole situation. I sadly would not readily recommend this book to anyone, but I have read some other reviewers who really enjoyed this book so maybe its just me.

Freedom was all Everly wanted so when she was stolen away in the dark of the night her dream seems lost. Zane and Reid had been searching for the perfect women to join their family.

The whole Stockholm syndrome love affair was so well written that by the end off the book I wanted more. More of Everly resisting the handsome Black brothers; Reid and Zane. More of the whole push and pull between them.

I've now read 2 of her books and she writes an antihero that readers hate to love, but eventually do. Even when I was cringing at the endless grammatical errors, I still kept reading because Winters just draws readers in.

But, despite being so intrigued with Reid, Everly, and Zane it was difficult to overlook the issues with Back to Black. Winters takes on a serious storyline, one that deals with child abuse, rape by the "heroes", kidnapp I can't deny that Katerina Winters is a compelling author.
