Metallica: (Black) For Drums

What mics, what room, where is the trick, is this a SoundReplacer trick or what?? The early stuff they did in Denmark is different from Justice and the Black album. The mid 90's and current stuff aren't very good so I assume you don't mean them. I'm guessing the Black album in which case there's not a lot of mids in there. I don't have any specific ideas but I would start with: D or Beta52 or Beta91 etc for inside.

No matter what year Metallica was recorded in, a sample was used to augment their drum sounds. Find a meaty sounding kick that has beef and a point and SoundReplacer with it. Samples and triggers do wonders for drum sounds. You know this for a fact?

Creating Metallica drum sound for electric drums: I was thinking of creating my own sound samples which would sound close to Metallica's drums with Shortcircuit, but I was told that you can't get it to sound good because you need multisamples for a more realistic sound, which Shortcircuit can't do I assume?

Where's the best place to buy it, and how can I get the Black Kit for it? If people here can't answer, could you guide me to someplace where I should ask these questions? And I mean is there even a simpler way to get the sounds, and for other Metallica's albums, too? There are other free samplers that can include round robins and multiple velocity layers. I am out of the loop with that, but a google should sort you out. There are loads of kits and libraries which can match Metallica's sounds. I haven't used Steven Slate plugins. They have good reputation, but I'm not a fan of the i-lok dongle.
