It was very informative and very helpfull. I would recommend it to any and everybody. Most of us who have tried to learn the art of reading Tarot cards by studying a book will recognize the five stages of such an approach apologies to Dr. Kubler-Ross, but I think she'd understand: Anticipation - I'm going to learn to read Tarot cards! Exhilaration - I know I'll get it if I study properly!
Bewilderment - how many definitions for each card? And reverse meanings, too?? Frustration - above, below, before, behind, crosses and covers the seeker - what?? I'm never going to learn to read Tarot cards.

This is an exaggeration, of course. I'm sure there are hordes of people out there who have figured out a system for understanding the cards by reading books about it. I'm just not one of them. But now that Vincent Pitisci's Genius of the Tarot has made its appearance, there's a tremendous new resource available for everyone interested in Tarot, whether a beginner or seasoned reader. Like all of the instructional books, Genius of the Tarot gives a definition for each card, illustrates different spreads, and includes examples of readings.
Unlike other Tarot book writers, however, Mr. Pitisci confines each definition to one word or a very short phrase, adds a concept to clarify each card, and explains the flow of a spread as well as its interpretation.

He eliminates reverse meanings with an explanation of why they are not necessary. He demystifies the reading process by comparing it to the use of a mind map in tackling a problem or issue. I've read many books on the tarot and after reading Genius of the Tarot I have to say that this author takes you on a magical journey through the tarot from original concepts and definitions of the cards to a imaginative free style of reading tarot cards while the mind mapping technique ties it all together for you in a easy to understand format. Genius of the Tarot should be a read on every tarot lovers list.

I never had any intentions of writing a book. But as time went on I developed a very unique understanding of the cards. The Tarot can be seen from many different angles. We all see the cards from our own eyes and not through someone else's. The Tarot is a perfect system of self expression in the way we see the world and its challenges. How we go about to achieve our own personal inspirational pursuits. The Tarot speaks to us individually and uniquely in the way we each "see" our world. That's the beauty of the Tarot. It speaks all languages and sees all perceptions.
The genius of this concept is it's randomness applied to our questions. The randomness of seventy eight cards placed into sections of a card spread to create intuitive ideas. How can you associate this random card to a question? How can it modify it, change it, expand it. Make it better in some fashion? What attributes does it have that can be applied to a question? Today we call this method of finding answers for a future result mind-mapping. The genius mind thinks this way naturally.
Others simply have to learn it.

If we define what is being done when doing a card reading, it would be the same definition of what is done when performing a mind-map. If a process looks at a question in sections, visually, in a pattern, attempts to find constructive answers from this visual pattern, adds random ideas to the sections of the pattern to help modify preliminary answers for a new insight or answer, and does all this for the ultimate purpose of finding a possible future result, it is a mind-map.
