Mar 02, Angel Ratcliffe rated it it was amazing. Couldn't put it down! This book is absolutely amazing! I loved reading every minute of it! The story definitely keeps you on your toes not knowing what is going to happen next. Feb 19, Cheryl Drake johnson rated it it was amazing. But it seems that Sofia started to setup dates with Kieran more and more and then Kieran started setting up the dates all along her brother was setting up a scheme to make sure that Kieran's life was going to be short but he was loosing his mind and Sofia didn't realize until too late that Michael Mickey had went off the deep end and the family business was in jeopardy it was up to her to save it but Mickey was one step ahead of her and now he has kidnapped her and threatened keiran's life a man she has fallen hard far.
I was given a copy of this book to read and I have provided an honest review. Feb 24, Mandy Faktor rated it really liked it. Burn Bay Burn What can I say. This book is great. Some of the names are mixed up sometimes but other than that. I love it when two people who shouldn't love each other do. Feb 18, Andrea Mccormick rated it really liked it. Holly Hart does it again, Insert heavy sigh. I love all the Byrne boys characters!! Jan 07, Rochelle rated it really liked it. Sofia is heiress to the Morello family and her brother Mickey is the head of it.
And that is where their problems lie, there isn't space for both families. When Sophia catches Kieran's eye, he can't stay away from her, his drawn to her and vice versa. They know it's wrong, especially with the pending war between the families.

Until Declan and Mickey come up with a plan, a plan that involves Kieran and Sophia. But when Mickey comes up with a new plan of his own that threatens Kieran's woman and his family, his made his last mistake. I absolutely loved this book. A intriguing storyline, that was enjoyable and entertaining.
The characters were awesome, Kieran the jokester in the family or so he appeared, was actually he was calm and calculating. Sophia, known as the ice queen, cold blooded and heartless. Although she seemed all of those things, she wasn't. Coming from the Morello family, people expected nothing less. From start to finish this story pulled me in and kept me entertained. My only grumble, is that I would have liked to have found out how Kieran's and Sophia's own relationship and the dynamics of their business relationship worked after she replaced her brother.
But other than that, it was a very enjoyable read. I'm looking forward to Ridley's book. Jan 13, Deb Fernow rated it really liked it. This is Book 2 of the Byrne Brothers series. They keep seeing each other as a fling only until she becomes a pawn in the game between families. Sophia is the smart one of the family but her brother is the boss since their father died. In fact things between them have gotten more intense but no one in the family knows this. Kieran, ever the fun one, has decided that she is to be protected at all costs but almost loses her. He turns to his guys and her loyal followers to set things right. An intense read but ultimately a HEA. I received an ARC from the author for an honest and unbiased review.
No compensation was promised or received for this. Jan 04, Gwendolyn Thaggard rated it really liked it. The book opens up on the wedding of Declan and Casey. But the focus is on Kieran, Declan's twin. He hooks up with a woman following the reception.
Not just any woman, but Sophia Morello. The Byrne families main rival. The climate isn't exactly stable between the families over the stir Casey and Declan caused so for Kieran to even look Sophia's way is in no one's best interest. Things get rocky after an attack on the Byrnes while Declan is away and Kieran is in charge.
Sophia's brother Mickey is h The book opens up on the wedding of Declan and Casey. Sophia's brother Mickey is head of the family but Sophia has the respect and loyalty of the men. I Her brother is clearly up to something which is the last thing Sophia needs while juggling her feelings for Kieran. Sophia is used to putting on a tough front in front of everyone.
It's a symptom of the life she was born into. Kieran is charming and carefree on the surface but he knows when to get down to business. Basically they both have a lot of tough decisions and demands being placed on them and their fierce attraction to each other makes life more complicated. When her brother turns on her Sophia has no one but Kieran to run to and when her life is in danger Kieran turns to an unlikely source to rescue his woman.
Jan 03, Julie Jefferies rated it it was amazing. Kieren can't believe his twin is getting married, a step he's really not ready yet himself. But when he hooks up with Sofia, the rival gangs leader Michael's sister at the reception, he never dreamed it could get so complicated. Sofia doesn't trust her brother one iota, so when she ends up in an arranged marriage with the guy she's been sleeping with, she starts to investigate what he's really up to.
Sofia's life is in danger now from the one person she should be able to trust. When Sofia tries Kieren can't believe his twin is getting married, a step he's really not ready yet himself. When Sofia tries to come clean with all her secrets, she only gets one out before Kieren kicks her out. This was a great continuation on from 'Let it Byrne'.
Holly does an amazing job of writing, she gets you emotionally involved with the characters, even the ones you hate, the reasoning so strong and powerful. My review is completely honest, and a non-incentivized review. Jan 30, Lin Nerdy Bookworm rated it really liked it. This is the second book in the Byrne brothers series and written about Kieran Byrne and Sofia Morello.
Sofia the ice queen is the mob princess of a rival crime family but attended Declan and Casey wedding. Kieran spotted Sofia across the room at the reception that led to a one night of unforgettable hot sex but the problem is it wasn't forgettable. Sofia's brother, Mickey Morello the head of the rival crime family had a different plan for his sister future which is to destroy the Byrne brother This is the second book in the Byrne brothers series and written about Kieran Byrne and Sofia Morello. Sofia's brother, Mickey Morello the head of the rival crime family had a different plan for his sister future which is to destroy the Byrne brothers and his sister with a fake arranged married.
The story dragged in the beginning but picked up midway of the book. I just loved Kieran cool, collective, debonair personality which was different from his twin brother. I won't say I disliked Sofia, because I could understand where she's coming from. But on the other hand her attitude at times drove me nuts.
The story was good with well developed characters and engaging. Feb 09, Dee Archer rated it it was amazing. They meet at Declan's wedding and agree to a one night fling. Seems simple enough but nothing is ever as simple as it first appears. Unexpected twists occur, unbelievable betrayals take place and crime families stand on the brink of a mafioso war between the Italians and the Irish. The action is intense and easily captures and holds one's attention. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Jan 03, Scrap rated it it was amazing.
Burn Baby Byrne
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book Omg I love the Byrne brothers I really thought Declan was my favorite but now that I have read Kieran's story I think he is my favorite now. The way he falls for Sophie knowing that the two families are at war and how wrong it is doesn't matter, Sophie may be younger but she has so much more inner power and smarts then her brother who runs the Morello family Mickey.
It can be read as a standalone, but to get the full picture of Jaxon and his family the reading of the other two books might be handy and the books are amazing. Like the other books by M. Carter there are lots of hurt and emotions, but also a lot of love. I loved Jaxon as a child in the previous books in the series, but grown-up Jaxon is an amazing guy. Annika is a sweetheart, and my heart broke for her. She did nothing wrong, but she was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. Although this is a fictional story, the author has giving Annika and Jaxon and the other characters a realistic voice and lets them deal with the aftermath in a realistic way.
I love Annika and Jaxon as individuals and I adore them as a couple. Mar 21, Nadia rated it it was amazing. This book is the third instalment in the Hart series, and it was an emotional and heartbreaking read. It was relatable, realistic and moving. I can relate to Annika and her mentality of 'preparation', every girl in all of our lives are taught to always be vigilant, to learn how to defend ourselves, to be smart and careful. Life is doesn't care about any of that. This book for me represent like so many others like it, a part of a movement, a part in our national and international discussions and discourse that we need to have.
Jax and Annika's story was really beautifully told. I cannot begin to express how much I loved how they developed as characters, the story was not centred around their growth per se, but the incidents still made me realise that they have changed from who they were before. I loved seeing them together and growing closer. This is Carter's best work to date, it has even replaced Groupie in my 1 spot, which I didn't think was possible, but when an author writes a poignantly beautiful and touching book, how can it not become your favourite?
I highly recommend this, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the best book so far. Mar 27, Debbie rated it it was amazing. I loved this series and Jason Hart and was looking forward to this installment.
See a Problem?
It did not disappoint. We knew Jaxon in the first two books in the series, but he was a child. He is all grown up and a collge student. His meeting Annika comes under horrible circumstances, but ends up being a turning point for them both.
A tender, sweet love story but not without issues, due to the circumstances. I really don't want to give too much away, so I will avoid any other details. Also, I had loved Jason so m I loved this series and Jason Hart and was looking forward to this installment. Also, I had loved Jason so much in the first two books, that it made me a little sad that for a time during this book I really wasn't liking him so much.
Thankfully, that didn't last. And Jaxon - well, he grew up into a wonderful young man despite or perhaps because of all of what he went through, both as a child and in this book. The Harts will always have a special place in my heart, and Annika has joined them there! Mar 24, Read. Repeat Blog rated it it was amazing.
Well there is a little bit of sports in this book, but this book is so much more than that. I am not ashamed to say, I openly cried reading this book. And I was out and out sobbing when Annika and her father had their ""silent"" phone conversation towards the end of the book. When I finished this book, all I could think was that this story needed to be told.
It wasdone beautifully "Looking at the cover of this book, I thought I was going to read another book in my favourite genre - sports romance. It wasdone beautifully, respectfully but also didn't shy away from the hard truth. I think Jaxon was the perfectly written hero for Annika. There is so much more I want to say about this book, but I fear giving away too much of the storyline.
All Ican say is that this book is a must read, and I am honoured to have been able to read it. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. Matters of the Hart is the third book in the Hart series. This book can be read as a standalone, but the books are all so good and none should be missed! He meets Annika on the worst day of her life. Annika has so much that she she has to go through and works hard to be strong, but definitely needs someone to lean on. While this book is called the third in a series, you DO NOT have to read the first two to read this one.
I didn't, and I still loved this story so much. Jaxon Hart is college bound, set to play football, although he doesn't necessarily have the natural talent for it like his father, Jason Hart. After a random night of fun and a chance meeting that was completely unexpected - Jaxon meets Annika. Annika is a freshman at college, with an overprotective parent and her nose in the books.
From this place of uncertainty grows a relationship of true admiration and strength. This story wraps about them beautifully and the characters are so well-rounded. It reminds me why I love ME Carter books; she takes care of her characters. You always end up caring for them just as much. Mar 21, McKinnze rated it it was amazing. Before I begin my review of Matters of the Hart, I have a confession to make I didn't read the second book in the series.
I know, I know. But almost every reader has that one thing that triggers them. The one style of book that they just can't handle reading, and for me, it just happened to be the subject matter of Hart to Heart. But honestly, maybe it's a good thing?

Matters of the Hart was really really good. From the second I started the book, I fell in love with the characters. And while Jaxon was great, Annika was even more amazing.
I connected with her so deeply that she has become one of my favorite female characters of all time. And while the subject matter of this book may also be a trigger for certain people, I can promise you that it is done in the most genuine of ways. It isn't an easy read, but it an amazing story, and I got lost in the characters and invested in their lives. It's a beautiful depiction of how being broken can actually make you stronger. I don't want to give anything away, so I won't say any more about the story. But as someone who is an extremely tough reviewer, this book is most definitely worth the read.
Everyone needs to read this book. You had me at the hashtag on this one, ME Carter, and I can't wait to see what you come up with next. Mar 11, Reading with 2 book lovers rated it it was amazing. Do not take this I loved Matters of the Hart, a beautifully written, heart wrenching story due to the sensitive subject matter it deals with. Do not take this warning lightly. Jaxson Hart, twenty-one, is the son of retired football legend, Jason Hart. Annika Leander, nineteen, is a happy to be at school, rooming with her best friend, Lauren.
There she meets Jaxson who was a witness to what happened to her and rescued her. The honest to goodness, kind hearted and thoughtful guy, a real life hero. This is a one-hundred percent HEA that made me cry tears of joy at the en Mar 18, Emily rated it it was amazing.
While you can read it by itself, I highly suggest reading books one and two first. I started Change of Hart last Friday and finished it in nearly one sitting. I then bawled and sobbed through Hart to Heart on Saturday. It was a full on Kim Kardashian ugly cry, people. My husband and kids kept giving me the side eye and my toddler just patted my knee in passing. But all the tears were completely worth it because both books were so incredibly written.
Matters of the Hart, like books one and two is a heavy, gut wrenching story that broke my heart into a million pieces, and slowly pasted it back together. And it was worth every tear, heartache, and stomach twist. Jaxon Hart is the son of our two main characters, Jason and Addison, from books one and two. All grown up and in college, Jaxon is struggling with his place in not only society, but also within his family.
His whole life changes the night he meets Annika. Circumstances of their meeting are not conventional in the least, and deal with an awful crime against women. Together Annika and Jaxon work to heal each other and to reestablish themselves within society, especially after seeing the evil that lurks within their college town. I truly loved this book, and the one thing that has made M.

A guy who had a not so pleasant childhood but pushed thru and now is in college playing football. Annika a young woman who is so strong and determined tries to overcome what happens to her. She also loves football.
They both stick together and help each other out! I was so focused on this story. I finished in one sitting. There is some heavy content that might not be good for people that been thru what Annika dealt with. It was hard, but that just made me feel even more for Annika. It was well-written filled with hope, love, overcome fear.
Parts of the story I liked: Jul 02, Passionpages50 rated it it was amazing. As soon as I realized that there was going to be a third book in this series, my heart rate spiked. This series is so heartbreaking, and yet simultaneously so heartwarming.

These Hart men will kick your knees out from under you, make you swoon, and be there to catch you when you fall. I have always had my own story to tell. I wrote plenty as a child, but never thought I could do it as a hobby. I had to get their story out. The Redemption Brothers MC books began as a single story, but as I wrote Coming Home the parents of the H were screaming that their story needed to be told first. After completing Tin Savior there were so many more stories jumping up at me. I knew that the world of the RBMC couldn't be cut off with only a couple of books. When I'm not writing or working I spend my free time with my family and much beloved shelter dog, Margo, our rescue cat, Binx, and my rescue dog MacGregor aka Mac.
