I did not like any of the women in this book with the possible exception of one of the main characters' aunt for, despite the synopsis of this story, it is as much Esme's as Bea's. The leading men, who possessed seemingly infinite patience with the harridans whom they were pursuing, were all they should be and I actually wished for better women for them to choose from, I will state first that I still really like the way this lady writes. I believe I have one more duchess in this quartet to read about, and, glutton for punishment that I am, no doubt I will acquire the book and loathe that "heroine" as well.

Bea lost her reputation during a scandalous scene at a ball, so with nothing to lose, shes ready and willing to take part of everything she wants. When shes invited to a house party and meets a man she wants, shell try her best seduction and hope for the best. Stephen didnt know what he was in for when he accepted the invitation to Infamous Esmes house party, but the ladies seem to have more than one plan including him in the works. Will he return to London unscathed? Kind of a double story going on here.

The widow has her own romance, begun two books ago and finally finished in this one. A very good, entertaining read. Aug 01, Pam rated it liked it. I really enjoy Eloisa James' books, and didn't mind this one, but I did find it a bit slow at times. I like the characters and enjoyed reading the next installment in the lives of these duchesses, but did find that I skipped a few pages here and there to get to "the good parts".

Eloisa James - A Wild Pursuit 2

I loved seeing their story come to a HEA. The author did a wonderful job of bringing it to a realistic conclusion even with the scandals from the other 2 books. That said, I did like their parts of the story. James is doing a wonderful job in the I feel like the blurb on the back of the book is misleading.

James is doing a wonderful job in these books of balancing a large cast of characters and making you care for each sub-plot as much as you do the main plot. I can't wait to see Helene and Rees's conclusion in the final book of this series. On a side note, not many romance novels feature childbirth. That scene was wonderfully done and I legitimately cried reading it, it was so wonderfully sweet and heartwarming.

Sep 01, Joanne rated it really liked it. Went above my expectations. Originally I didn't want to read this book since Stephan and Bea as characters did not interest me.

Various elements of this book came together to make this an enjoyable read. Amongst them are Helene and Rees intera Went above my expectations. Amongst them are Helene and Rees interaction, Stephan and Bea back and forth flirtation, the friendship between Esme, Helene, and Bea and last but not least, a more in-depth reading of Esme's backgound. I came to appreciate Esme's character more and it gave me a better understanding of her actions. All in all, I enjoyed this novel immensely.

Now onto Your Wicked Ways! Well, this review is pretty much the same as the others in this series. Bea, to me, was quite annoying with the facade of being a wanton and actually just being a girl who wants to marry and have kids it would be more interesting if she did enjoy sex and wanted more from a relationship than just pleasure. Stephen was quite lovely, even if I liked him more in the previous book, as it seems he lost part of who he was. Another t Well, this review is pretty much the same as the others in this series. Alas, on we go to the last one!

Jul 11, Laura deLuna rated it really liked it Shelves: I was worried about the angst I don't do angsty romance novels very well. I prefer ones where the hero and heroine marry early and spend the rest of the novel getting to know one another. It causes me stress to think that anything could get in the way of a happy ending But this book was rather well written in that aspect. And while there was a certain amount of pining and miscommunication, it was nothing that was so outrageous or unforgivable as I have read in some novels.

I always enjoy Elo I was worried about the angst I always enjoy Eloisa James' writing. And I will continue to enjoy it. I actually own two or three of her books now I think. They are worth it. May 09, Naomi Impellizzeri rated it it was amazing Shelves: I really enjoyed this. It's been on my kindle list for a while and I had no idea where the story was going so it was very refreshing. The various subplots were great, a really refreshing setting that kept you entertained and wanting more. Keen to read more from this series. All the women where fantastic, supportive characters and the men were rather dashing.

James makes characters both desirable and flawed, thus making it feel all the more rea I really enjoyed this. James makes characters both desirable and flawed, thus making it feel all the more real and inspiring hope that we can love ourselves and others. Alot going on in this book. Roughly 3 different stories taking place at a house party. The individuals in the 3 stories are all interconnected. The conclusion of Esme and Sebastian should of been a novella. Being a fan of Shakespeare, I especially loved three ending Alot going on in this book.

A reviewer from USA Today wrote of Eloisa's very first book that she "found herself devouring the book like a dieter with a Hershey bar"; later People Magazine raved that "romance writing does not get much better than this.

In her professorial guise, she's written a New York Times op-ed defending romance, as well as articles published everywhere from women's magazines such as More to writers' journals such as the Romance Writers' Report. When I'm not writing novels, I'm a Shakespeare professor.

It's rather like having two lives. The other day I bought a delicious pink suit to tape a television segment on romance; I'll never wear that suit to teach in, nor even to give a paper at the Shakespeare Association of America conference. It's like being Superman, with power suits for both lives. Yet the literature professor in me certainly plays into my romances. The Taming of the Duke April has obvious Shakespearean resonances, as do many of my novels. I often weave early modern poetry into my work; the same novel might contain bits of Catullus, Shakespeare and anonymous bawdy ballads from the 16th century.

When I rip off my power suit, whether it's academic or romantic, underneath is the rather tired, chocolate-stained sweatshirt of a mom. Just as I use Shakespeare in my romances, I almost always employ my experiences as a mother. When I wrote about a miscarriage in Midnight Pleasures , I used my own fears of premature birth; when the little girl in Fool For Love threw up and threw up, I described my own daughter, who had that unsavory habit for well over her first year of life.

So I'm a writer, a professor, a mother - and a wife. My husband Alessandro is Italian, born in Florence. We spend the lazy summer months with his mother and sister in Italy. It always strikes me as a huge irony that as a romance writer I find myself married to a knight, a cavaliere , as you say in Italian. I have girlfriends who are writers and girlfriends who are Shakespeare professors.
