The heart of a child is so beautiful, so tender and yet so big. A child's heart can be an inspiration with their profound sense of unconditional love and unwavering faith.
It's no wonder why Jesus commands us to have faith like a child! But many of us are missing out on one of life's greatest blessings: A fulfilling relationship with our children. Being burdened by busy-ness and day to day tasks we forget to slow things down a bit and spend some quality time with them. Building a friendship with your child is one of the most important aspects of parenting. God being our Father also calls Himself our friend. If we are to be the example of the Lord toward our children, then we need to nourish and grow a friendship with them.
In this book you will learn of many ways to lead and cherish a child's heart. You will learn how to relate to them better and the importance of it; that way, they may be more likely to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. A little bit of kindness can go a long way. It refreshes a weary soul, and encourages a person to go and do likewise. It inspires them to do good and not evil. By showing kindness we can turn others to righteousness. This is exactly how Jesus saves us.
Prayer of Pope Benedict XVI for the World Day of Peace (Jan. 1, 2007)
By His kindness we find salvation through conviction. When we walk in His kindness others experience the very beating heart of Christ. When we choose kindness it stirs our heart. We experience God and it opens our eyes to see His kindness more clearly. With them we can build up a heart or with them we can break one. Love has always been expressed first through the lips. Before every romantic relationship begins, words of love come first. We communicate our hearts through our mouths, and whatever is bubbling over from our hearts spills forth from the mouth. Like a kiss on the ear a beautiful word can truly bless a soul.
But a bitter word can crush a spirit. Knowing this, we ought to devote ourselves to having holy, edifying, and loving tongues. For if the Gospel of Jesus comes from our mouths, then what are hurtful words doing there as well? One should be careful to abstain from negative talChoosing Words That Healk, whether toward others or of ourselves. Consider devoting yourself to have lips full of love as you choose words that heal.
Have you ever wondered why you're on this earth? What your purpose is and what your place in life is? Have you ever wanted to know why you exist and what you're created for? You have been created for something more than this life. You have been made by God who cherishes, treasures, and loves you. Your purpose and your meaning are found wrapped up in His arms. He made you to be His special treasure. You have not been made to suffer through life but have been created by God for His love. There are many influences in this world. Some turn us to the Lord and some distract us from Him. Desire haunts us like an evil thing.
Our flesh pulls at our hearts with a gnawing fury, seeking to break down what Christ has built up in us. The Devil plays on our desires and entices us, that we should be shamefaced before our God. But by discipline in the Spirit we can curb our fleshly desires and acquire the heart of the Lord. His desires shall become our desires, and our hearts and minds will be refreshed in His love.
Lord Jesus, unite to your cross the sufferings of the many innocent victims: Lord Jesus, cast forth the shadow of your cross over peoples at war; may they learn the way of reconciliation, dialogue and forgiveness; let the peoples so wearied by bombing experience the joy of your resurrection: O Virgin Mary, Queen of peace, you who stood at the foot of the cross, obtain from your Son pardon for our sins; you who never doubted the victory of his resurrection, sustain our faith and our hope; you who are enthroned as Queen in glory, teach us the royal road of service and the glory of love.
We have tried so many times and over so many years to resolve our conflicts by our own powers and by the force of our arms. How many moments of hostility and darkness have we experienced; how much blood has been shed; how many lives have been shattered; how many hopes have been buried… But our efforts have been in vain. Now, Lord, come to our aid! Grant us peace, teach us peace; guide our steps in the way of peace. Open our eyes and our hearts, and give us the courage to say: Instill in our hearts the courage to take concrete steps to achieve peace. Lord, God of Abraham, God of the Prophets, God of Love, you created us and you call us to live as brothers and sisters.
Give us the strength daily to be instruments of peace; enable us to see everyone who crosses our path as our brother or sister. Make us sensitive to the plea of our citizens who entreat us to turn our weapons of war into implements of peace, our trepidation into confident trust, and our quarreling into forgiveness. Keep alive within us the flame of hope, so that with patience and perseverance we may opt for dialogue and reconciliation. In this way may peace triumph at last, and may the words "division", "hatred" and "war" be banished from the heart of every man and woman.
Lord, defuse the violence of our tongues and our hands. Renew our hearts and minds, so that the word which always brings us together will be "brother", and our way of life will always be that of: May Mary show us, in her Son, the Way of peace, and enlighten our vision, so that we can recognize Christ's face in the face of every human person, the heart of peace! O God, Creator of the universe, who extends your paternal concern over every creature and guides the events of history to the goal of salvation, we acknowledge your fatherly love when you break the resistance of mankind and, in a world torn by strife and discord, you make us ready for reconciliation.
Renew for us the wonders of your mercy; send forth your Spirit that he may work in the intimacy of hearts, that enemies may begin to dialogue, that adversaries may shake hands and peoples may encounter one another in harmony.

May all commit themselves to the sincere search for true peace which will extinguish all arguments, for charity which overcomes hatred, for pardon which disarms revenge. The child you embrace has a name that is dear to the peoples of biblical religion: In the face of the newborn Messiah, we recognize the face of all your children, who suffer from being despised and exploited.
We recognize especially the faces of your children, to whatever race, nation or culture they may belong. For them, O Mary, for their future, we ask you to move hearts hardened by hatred so that they may open to love and so that revenge may finally give way to forgiveness. Obtain for us, O Mother, that the truth of this affirmation -- No peace without justice, no justice without forgiveness -- be engraved on every heart.
Thus the human family will be able to find the true peace, that flows from the union of justice and mercy. Holy Mother, Mother of the Prince of Peace, help us! Mother of Humanity and Queen of Peace, pray for us! Lord Jesus Christ, who are called the Prince of Peace, who are yourself our peace and reconciliation, who so often said, "Peace to you," grant us peace.
Make all men and women witnesses of truth, justice, and brotherly love. Banish from their hearts whatever might endanger peace.
