June 6, ISBN: Compassionate and giving, she generously donates her time to help these souls while only requesting their families make donations to a charity, if able, which is a perfect fit for her character and in turn endeared her to me.

As a practicing Wiccan witch, Gavenia is comfortable with her faith, her beliefs, and her gift, which is refreshing.

Tangled Souls

Douglas, who has been hired to investigate Gavenia, wants nothing more than to prove she is a fraud. After their first auspicious meeting, Gavenia and Doug agree to work together to help Bradley. As they spend time together, Doug realizes that he is attracted to Gavenia. But, Doug is hiding a secret from Gavenia. Since Gavenia and Doug are older, their relationship grows in a mature and organic way. Their witty banter while getting to know each other makes their relationship more special when it changes from friends to lovers.

The strength that Gavenia and Doug find within their relationship allows each of them to fully accept their gifts, which is a beautiful thing to see. Tangled Souls is a well-crafted paranormal romance with believable characters and plot twists a plenty that keep the pages turning to the perfect romantic conclusion. Oliver nicely ties up all of the major plot points while leaving the door open to revisit these characters again in the future if she so chooses.

I received an eBook copy of the book for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility. Oct 07, Maghon Thomas rated it it was amazing Shelves: You get lots from this book, lots of mystery, paranormal, a little romance with a side of fun and adventure! So, are you read for some fun? Gavenia, aka Gav to me, is a nedium of sorts. She can see and speak to dead people. It starts with a small boy who died getting stuck, and things get a little out of control in just a short time.

I loved her character, as all she wants to do is be left alone from those skeptics so she can help those spirits who really need her.

Tangled souls is a captivating story that mixes mystery with supernatural twists. The author has created an intricate story that keeps you guessing till the very end. The characters aren't perfect they have issues and I really love that about them they are human.

The story is beautifully written the author did a fantastic job. Sep 18, Fran rated it really liked it. I always jump of excitement when Ms Oliver releases new books, and I was even more thrilled, in this case, because she ventured into the paranormal romance genre, which I love. Gavenia and Doug are two completely different characters, but more similar to each other than one could imagine. Even though they haven't had the best of starts, it's pretty clear that they have a connection.

The fact that they fight hard to deny it, is a completely different thing. The story itself is really good, there I always jump of excitement when Ms Oliver releases new books, and I was even more thrilled, in this case, because she ventured into the paranormal romance genre, which I love.

The story itself is really good, there's mystery, action, drama, romance I loved how I was buried so deep into it that I literally struggled to let it go. I would read some, reluctantly stop for chores, and then read some more. It was so captivating that every time I had to stop, I'd be like: Then I'd put it down, look at my kindle and be like: And then I'd be like: And by the end of that, I'd realise I'd read six or seven chapters and screwed dinner. And it's not like the chapters are short, so yes, it was THAT enticing.

So I really suggest you pick this book when you have absolutely nothing to do, because otherwise you'll forget to get the kids to school, eat lunch, do chores And probably burn the whole house down because you were so caught up in the story that you forgot you had something on the stove.

      Reward Yourself

Awesome job, Ms Oliver, as usual! Jun 06, Rashika is tired rated it really liked it Shelves: Jana Oliver does it again. Tangled Souls was incredible. I loved her Demon Trappers Series and when I heard that she had written an adult urban fantasy book hopefully a series I was extremely excited. I got my hands on a copy. I haven't had a lot of time to read lately so this book did take me around 2 days to finish but the book completely drew me inside. Gavenia is a great character. She has flaws but is strong.

She is independent and stands up for herself when people do her wrong. O'Fallon is Jana Oliver does it again. O'Fallon is an adorable irish man. He annoyed me at times but then if I were to fall in love with him immediately it wouldn't leave much room for character development. He comes a long way from the beginning of the novel to the end. The mystery part of the book is great. It isn't out of the world but rather down to Earth and realistic. It isn't what you would call predictable but it isn't unpredictable either.

Tangled Souls | Songs For The Coming Home

My only issue with this book and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the romance. It isn't insta of course. I love the development but when they actually reach 'that point' in their relationship, it's all cheese. Aug 20, Cathrina Constantine rated it it was amazing. Tangled Souls was such a pleasant surprise. It had everything I like to read: Mystery, Suspense, Paranormal, and Romance. I instantly liked the main characters, Gavenia and O'Fallon. Total opposites, yet fighting for the same cause. The author, Jana Oliver has a writer's gift.

I thoroughly enjoyed her written style, which kept me busy swiping the pages. Oliver did a wonder job of intermingling the storyline between O'Fallon and Gavenia. I love anything Irish, and actually, I turn Irish once a year on St. Doug O'Fallon is an Irishmen, through and through, and a devote Catholic, which makes him struggle with his gift. Whereas, Gavenia embraces hers, yet with some difficulty. The paranormal scenes were nicely played. Sad, scary, and spine-tingling. I did jump ahead, like I always do because I can't sleep unless I find out what happens.

I wondered how the author was going to get O'Fallon and Gavenia together Tangled Souls is highly recommended for readers who like the mysterious paranormal and murder cases that need solving. Jan 01, Christina Torretta rated it really liked it. I knew when I read that synopsis that this was going to be a book that I really enjoyed. Not only does it have a really interesting paranormal aspect but also I don't think there are enough books about witches out there, so I tend to gravitate to them. I really enjoyed reading about both of these characters.

They seemed so real, flaws and all. The characters and the plot really do draw you in, so much so that I got to the end before I was ready for this TO Ahhh!!

I am not huge into mysteries but the way this unfolds, unraveling multiple plots to intertwine at the end, it was fabulously done. And both of our main characters are struggling with their pasts and stresses in their lives, it was so real but Jana Oliver has a way of still wrapping you into the story and making you forget about life, even though it is a mystery!

I haven't read many mysteries that I've enjoyed, but the characters absolutely make this. Them and Jana's fabulous writing. I am definitely a new fan and plan to pick up more of her books! If you're looking for something fun and a bit different for October, get this!! Dec 26, Karen Ziemkowski rated it really liked it Shelves: The book immediately drew me in.

The characters were relatable to me. Gavenia is a real Wiccan who is psychic and is a medium, and Doug is as PI who also has psychic abilities. The two meet due to each of them working different sides if the same case, and an adventure - and soon a strong connection and then a romance - ensues. Jana writes in a style that is fun and easy to read, and she hooks you quickly and keeps you coming back for more. Jun 05, Nereid rated it really liked it. It started off slow for me but that is fine as it took time to introduce the characters and weave the tapestry of threads that make up this story.

A combination of PNR, sleuth work and good old fashioned suspense tracking down a killer or two. Gavinia is disillusioned and use to dealing with people who don't believe she has a gift. He is too afraid to acknowledge he has a gift let alone allow it free reign being a god fearing man.

      See a Problem?

Will they get it together and realise they can heal each other or will they push each other away because of their differences, read it and find out?

The slow evolution of a romance between two damaged souls. I would definitely recommend this book as it was a believable love story with supernatural elements that kept my interest throughout. Jun 08, Suzan rated it it was amazing Recommends it for: I really enjoyed this story, I love how all the characters are connected, even if we don't see the connection straight away. I loved Gavenia and Doug, they were different in some ways but well matched for each other.

I loved the chemistry between them and how she helped him accept himself. I loved Avery as well and Bart! It was such a great story and I loved how Doug's two cases and Gavenia's case ended up so inter-connected in the end. It was great the way he chose to tell her how he felt in Iri I really enjoyed this story, I love how all the characters are connected, even if we don't see the connection straight away.

It was great the way he chose to tell her how he felt in Irish at the end and his grandmother was awesome! Loved her way of vetting Gavenia before giving her approval! Such a great read, I didn't want to put it down! Jun 06, Amber rated it liked it. Jun 20, Lisa rated it really liked it. I hope there is a sequel in the works because this is a couple that I would love to see more of. Nov 29, Deborah Allen rated it really liked it.

I really enjoyed this. It was funny and had it's witty moments. It was interesting to have a couple so completely opposites in their beliefs working together and becoming a couple. Truly a good read! Mar 29, Karissa rated it really liked it. This book started a bit rough for me. However, things picked up quickly and I ended up being completely drawn into the story.

I also enjoyed the complex characters and the fact that they were older and had some history to them. This ended up being a very quick read for me, despite its long length. This is a complex story but it does a great job of wrapping up most of the storylines in a single book. At times the story has a noir feel to it as well. All these elements were deftly blended together to create an engaging and unique story. Overall I was impressed with the complexity of the story and characters and with how engaging it was.

When her latest case involves a heart-breaking hit-and-run victim, Gavenia is stressed to the max. The last thing she needs is a no-nonsense private detective on her tail, even if he is a handsome Irishman. Former homicide detective Douglas O'Fallon possesses his own psychic gift, one he's denied for years. Hired by a wealthy client to prove that Gavenia is a con artist, he is skeptical of the witch's claims she can speak to the dead.

If he finds her gift to be genuine, then he will be forced to accept his own. When their two cases intersect, opposites attract. But will they be able to set their differences aside long enough to outwit their foes - both the living and the dead?
