Capital senior Kyannah Cole goes for a layup on her first day back at practice Wednesday following an injury at Capital High School. Sitting on the bench for the past week were four key players, all nursing injuries to their left knees. So, the Lady Jaguars buckled down and made sure they made life miserable for opponents on the offensive end.
They are allowing just Not that last year was a bad one. In fact, Capital was leading District A before Cole tore her posterior cruciate ligament and missed the last seven games of the season. It led to a finish, but the Lady Jaguars did enough to make it to the state tournament for the first time in eight years. The Lady Jaguars already matched their win total without Cole this year, going since she aggravated her previous injury during a loss to Roswell Goddard in the semifinals of their own Al Armendariz Tournament on Nov.
The signature win came in a win over Santa Fe High the following day to take third place in the tournament and beat the Demonettes for the first time since Booker was already out for the year after a freak volleyball accident in which she tore her ACL after colliding with a teammate, and the spate of injuries shortened the bench for Capital head coach Darren Casados.
Casados said the situation gave other players some time on the court, and some of them responded in a big way. Against Santa Fe High, she had a lot of energy.

The energy was primarily on the defensive end, because the offense has struggled to score at times. Capital failed to score a point in the opening quarter as the Lady Braves jumped out to a lead and went on to a win.
As bad as the start was, Casados felt his team responded to the adversity with three solid quarters. We, as coaches, have to get the most out of it.
Luck was not kind to the Lady Jaguars the next day in the consolation bracket against Los Alamos, as the Lady Hilltoppers hit bank shots near the end of three of the four quarters to win, The sources for this style came from the many defining features of local architecture: After this style became official: By there was a broadening to include the "Territorial", a style of the pre-statehood period which included the addition of portales large, covered porches and white-painted window and door pediments and also sometimes terra cotta tiles on sloped roofs, but with flat roofs still dominating.
The city had become "different". However, "in the rush to pueblofy" [31] Santa Fe, the city lost a great deal of its architectural history and eclecticism. Among the architects most closely associated with this new style are T. Charles Gaastra and John Gaw Meem. By an ordinance passed in , new and rebuilt buildings, especially those in designated historic districts, must exhibit a Spanish Territorial or Pueblo style of architecture, with flat roofs and other features suggestive of the area's traditional adobe construction.
However, many contemporary houses in the city are built from lumber, concrete blocks, and other common building materials, but with stucco surfaces sometimes referred to as "faux-dobe", pronounced as one word: In a September report by Angelou Economics, it was determined that Santa Fe should focus their economic development efforts in the following seven industries: Angelou Economics recognized three economic signs that Santa Fe's economy was at risk of long term deterioration.
These signs were; a lack of business diversity which tied the city too closely to fluctuations in tourism and the government sector; the beginnings of urban sprawl, as a result of Santa Fe County growing faster than the city, meaning people will move farther outside the city to find land and lower costs for housing; and an aging population coupled with a rapidly shrinking population of individuals under 45 years old, making Santa Fe less attractive to business recruits.
The seven industries recommended by the report "represent a good mix for short-, mid-, and long-term economic cultivation. In consultation with members of community groups, who were encouraged to provide feedback, the consultants made a wide range of recommendations in the plan now published for public and city review.
