But that out of the way, there are plenty of black and white illustrations and patterns the author provides for you to copy and enlarge when necessary to complete many of her suggested projects, once again, a good reason to buy the book and not the e-reader edition of this one. This is a great gook for anyone who enjoys crafts. It is like a big reference book, pages of information, covering subjects from beading, floral arts, paper crafting, decoupage, decorative embellishing such as mirror etching, etched glass Christmas ornaments, gilding, dry-embossing velvet, creating a mosaic table and the list goes on.

The book then provides a chapter on children's arts and crafts and ends with a chapter provided on patterns and original art covering many of the projects throughout the book. So, if you like crafts, you will like this book, it is filled with idea after idea for different projects. Overall, a great general reference on lots of craft techniques.

This book is not yet featured on Listopia. Sep 13, Carol rated it it was ok Shelves: This book is full of good ideas but it has one big downfall, there are no color pictures, or even good black and white pictures for that matter. It reads like an encyclopedia for crafts but I like color pictures in a craft book so I can be inspired to make the items and see what they are supposed to look like.

If they ever come out with another edition of this book I hope they add better pictures. Nov 18, Emily rated it really liked it Shelves: This is almost a craft encyclopedia. It's got a lot of good information, but is so large as to be almost unwieldy. Each chapter starts with a personal anecdote of the author information on how she learned that craft, which I skipped.

The general information on each craft is really good.
