Using Caron Chunky Cakes this is a very fast make and using self striping bulky yarn makes it oh so easy! Lion Brand Soft Spoken is such wonderful yarn! It has excellent drape, luxurious softness and colorations that mimic hand-dyed yarns. One cake is enough to knit or crochet a generous showstopping shawl.

This soft mod scarf just speaks to me! This new yarn called Soft Spoken from Lion Brand is just so lovely. Sometimes faux fur yarns can have some scratchiness from the fibers but this yarn is not scratchy at all. It is super soft, feels fantastic and there is almost no shedding. Oh how I love the pattern for this stitch sampler blanket…..

Eliza Telfer Sampler from Threads of Gold This lacy-looking piece is a Scottish sampler, stitched by Elizabeth telfer, and has no date. The directions go on to describe these tid-bits of information. The original shows that the date has been picked out, which happened as young girls matured! All the things you would expect in a Scottish sampler have been stitched.

There are alphabets, crowns, rns, animals, birds, people and ships, plus recognition to King William an Queen Victoria, and a verse from Proverbs. While Elizabeth stitched ships, typical of Scottish Samplers, her fish are unusual additions!!! After stitching such a busy sampler, she then added initials of the family and friends which filled every available space.
