JAPAN Country Studies: A brief, comprehensive study of Japan
Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology was created in October with the merger of Tokyo University of Mercantile Marine and Tokyo University of Fisheries to become the only one Japanese university dedicated to education and research in the marine and fisheries field. Both Tokyo University of Mercantile Marine and Tokyo University of Fisheries had great tradition and a long history of nearly years. Having inherited the rich tradition of the two universities, we have been implementing new initiatives in the marine field to further enhance and develop education and research activities conducted at the university.
We aim to meet the expectations of society by making our university, which is the only university dedicated to oceanography and related studies in Japan, one of the world's greatest universities that can produce international leaders for the industrial, governmental and academic sectors.
