ERP Baan IV Documentation Transportation Module
In the Service and Maintenance SMA module, the allocation is initially assigned to the main warehouse as defined at the estimated materials. When the service order is assigned to a technician, the allocation can be shifted from the main warehouse to the service car belonging to the service engineer.
The DRP module provides the possibility to perform a rough transportation capacity check, in which both scheduled capacity requirements from actual transportation orders and planned capacity requirements from planned replenishment orders are compared with the total available capacity.
Furthermore it is possible to link a replenishment order to a transport order in the Transport Order Control TOC module. In this way the transport of the goods to be replenished can be planned. The output of DRP is planned replenishment orders, which after approval and transfer, result in replenishment orders in the RPL module. Replenishment orders are used for the administrative control of the goods flow between warehouses. Figure The main flow between the business objects in the DRP module.
The Bill of Distribution specifies the interrelationships between warehouses and replenishment constraints, which are consulted by BAAN IV when planned replenishment orders are generated. The Bill of Distribution can be made specific by item, or less specific by item group, or generic for the entire company. In the Distribution Requirements Planning business object, netting of demand and off-setting for replenishment lead time take place. Netting means translating gross requirements for example, from demand forecast, sales orders, and quotations into net requirements, by subtraction of scheduled receipts for example, from purchase orders, production orders, and replenishment orders.

Off-setting implies that the gross requirements created by a lower level warehouse are corrected in time for the in-transit lead time. In addition to planned replenishment orders, the business object generates planning overviews which are an aid to the planner. During the previously described process, supply constraints and SKU parameters are taken into account, and planned replenishment orders, rescheduling and exception messages are generated.
Planned replenishment orders can be approved individually or collectively, and converted into actual replenishment orders in the Replenishment Order Control RPL module. If there will be a surplus or shortage of inventory due to scheduled replenishment orders, BAAN IV generates rescheduling messages, allowing the planner to take corrective action.
Information on the trip the means of transport or employee came from and to which trip they may be allocated to can also be recorded. If a trip is to be subcontracted to a third party, information related to the supplier, currency and amount can be entered in the Maintain Subcontracting Data by Trip trtopm session. The planner can change the generated plan at the individual stop data level. The Maintain Planned Stop Data by Trip trtopm session displays all stop data by trip related to the stop status, date and time of arrival and departure, wait time at each stop, driving time, and distance to be covered from one stop to another.
This data is retrieved from various default settings and can be modified by the planner. The planned trip data can be calculated based on planned stop data by running the Calculate Planned Data by Trip trtopm session. Therefore, to ensure accurate calculation of planned trip data, it is important for the planner to check the generated planned data per stop and adjust or supplement it, if required. On completion of trip planning, the plan can be checked using the Check Plannings trtopm session.
If there are any inconsistencies, a report is printed which the planner can use to adjust the plan. Some of these documents provide useful information on how the means of transport must be loaded. This can be done in the TOD module. The procedure continues with the Carry Out Trips trtopm session.

After the commodities are loaded for delivery or when the transport is ready to leave for the loading of goods based on planned stops, this session can be run. This session changes the planned trip status to in progress and the status of corresponding stops to scheduled stop , which means that the trip is now in operation.
On completion of individual stops or the entire trip, the actual data collected by the driver can be entered by stop using the Maintain Actual Data by Stop trtopm session. This could be helpful if the actual trip data i. The actual trip data can be calculated in the Calculate Actual Data by Trip trtopm session and can be viewed or modified in the Maintain Actual Data by Trip trtopm session.
Entering the actual trip data is also possible in the Maintain Trips trtopm session.

Calculating or entering trip data is normally done after a trip is completed, i. The status of a stop can also be changed to wait if scheduled load or unload activities cannot be performed or busy load or unload activities are in progress before completing or closing a stop. In this way, the planner can determine the status of each stop and the overall trip status whenever required.
The completion of the entire trip can be followed by running the Close Trips trtopm session. The option of closing all stops associated with the trip is also available in this session.

This session not only updates history, but also deletes stop and trip data. To use this session, the status of the related trips must be closed. You are commenting using your WordPress. The volume of information entered in the Transport Order Control TOC module depends on the type of activities within the organization. This module provides functions not only to create orders for the service of transportation provided, but by linking this module to other modules, provides a host of functions involving plans for executing transportation, costing, calculation of amounts to be invoiced to customers, packing material to be used, and posting of transportation amounts to one or more ledger accounts in BAAN IV Finance.
Any changes made to the distance in the order line can update the distance table in the ACS module.

A transport order can also be copied to an inbound or outbound order in the WOC module. Any changes made to the transport order are automatically updated in the TOP module. The cost of executing an order or a trip comprising multiple orders is handled by the Transport Costing TCO module. Data from Transport Fleet Management TFM module, namely the transport means group, and means of transport are used by the TOC module as required for the transport order. Relevant data from the transport order lines are used to update the transport means calendar in the TFM module.
A packing transaction for items in the transport order lines can either be entered manually or can be created automatically or interactively from the transport order in the Packing Control PAC module. This is important from the point of view of the number of packing items required for packing the items in the transport order lines.

Any modifications made to the quantities on the order lines will lead to an update in the packing transactions. This data is in relation to the hours accounting, fuel intake, time and distance readings, actual trip data could differ from the estimates as recorded in the plan , and packing data. The Generate Entries parameter must have the value yes or no for generation or manual recordings of entries pertaining to trip related data. An entry can be generated in the CDE module, which reads the trip and order line data.
If the Composition of Entry Numbers parameter is set to order , the entry is based on the transport order. Figure The main flow between the business objects in the TOC module.
