She took numerous medications, pain pills, sleeping pills, antidepressants, coffee and alcohol. In her book, she transforms your favorite comfort foods to a raw version.
Stowers explains acidity is an enemy to the body, if it is not properly balanced with alkaline needs. Each raw recipe is pitted against its processed version. There are some good raw recipe substitutes that I would try, one being the Chinese Egg Rolls. It consists of sliced avocado, romaine lettuce leaves, red bell pepper strips, carrots, zucchini, and yellow summer squash julienned. After slicing all the vegetables, they are rolled in rice paper wrappers. I would also try the following dessert recipes: Key Lime and Almond Joy, and Cheesecake pies.
I must not leave out the Chocolate Mousse raw dessert. I understand the need for a raw food diet is very healthy, but it is also an expensive diet. The substitute ingredients can become quite costly. I recommend this book for persons who have special diets, and those wanting a gradual change to a healthier eating lifestyle. And I didn't like it. But there's a thing; It's more healty. Because raw chocolate has more antioxidants than green tea! Can you believe it? Best thing about raw is fruits. We already eating fruits raw. Well maybe you cook with caramel but I never did and I can't eat those desserts unfortunately. You can't eat pasta or noodles? There's a healty recipe for you too! I have admit,best thing about about eating raw is desserts.
All pies is amazing! And make sure to try Almond Joy Pie. And that Banana Road kill? It's so easy and make sure try this one too.

There's a lot I can't make because I'm not going to buy a dehydrator but for the most part the recipes are easy enough. This is the best raw food recipe book I've encountered, and I have a shelf full of them--about 20 or 30 of them. This author succinctly makes the case for raw food, but more importantly, she provides recipes that show a raw food newbie hoe to transition from favorite comfort foods to raw alternatives. This is the one I'll be recommending to everyone who asks about how to go raw.
