Interesting concept for a book, with the setting in pre-historic days. Good imagination and word images. Not up to the quality of his books "Sagebrush" and "Puma", but because of the basic premise: He did point out that if we could control or defeat our god, then he or she wasn't a god, thus god must be something or someone greater than man, which is outside our comprehension. This book was a pleasant read.

It was well though out and the plot was decent.

The only reason I didn't give it five stars was that at times the book felt rushed like the author was tired of writing. Where there was space for detail it moved along. I want to feel those grueling moments or the breeze blowing my hair whatever the case the book jumped ahead of itself and didn't go back.

I enjoyed the storytelling which was straightforward, entertaining and easy to read. The author created his own world that progressed into a happy place for the main characters and their families. This was a very good book it is a quick read but was full of adventure and great characters. I enjoyed the story of how people grew from finding fire and evolving from there. Don't let the first few chapters fool you.

I actually put this one down and read another book. But went back to this one and was glad I finished it.
