Conozco bien ese galanteo interesado. Shaya le dio un cupcake con el glaseado de color morado. Y con Noor es un encanto; para ella, Jon es su hermano mayor y punto. The flipside is, Raphael does not appear to have any sense of humor whatsoever. His consort, it is she. Time for some Eloisa James.
To the Guild Hunter series, I have two words. So horrible that despite flipping through page after page trying desperately to find the plot past the mind-numbingly repetitive sex scenes, I couldn't even bring myself to finish this book. The first two were interesting, even if they weren't the best.

Hamilton stopped with plot in the Anita Blake books and instead started writing books full of boring, word-for-word repetitive sex scenes instead? Every description is the same. And if you tell me one more time that his eyes are inhumanly blue or that she has a mortal heart, I might stab someone.
Serie El Gremio de los Cazadores - Nalini Singh :: NYT bestselling author
The sex scenes are never-ending. Have a nightmare, fuck. Get in a fight, fuck. Take a bath, fuck. It's like the non-sex scenes are there solely to give time passing between the sex scenes. Because the non-sex scenes are so pointless, so angsty, so dull and pointless they don't amount to a storyline.
This book was awful and I can't imagine anyone finding anything interesting or worthy about it. I read other people in reviews praise Singh for her world building which baffles me because the serious lack of world building is one of this series biggest flaws. We are given some sketchy details in the first book which clue us in to Archangels being some kind of ultimate power on Earth in this alternative version on things but here we are at book 3 and I'm still wondering how the world is run other than the Archangels running around and screwing with humans in both ways.
Apparently in the US there are still police departments for human affairs but whether or not there is a Mayor of New York City still or even a President of the United States isn't something this series feels the need to address. This series wants to be a paranormal version of J. Robb's In Death series but it lacks what makes the In Death so enjoyable - namely the world building and the realistic development of the relationship between Roarke and Eve.
Archangel Raphael and Guild Hunter Elena have great sex Also annoying is Elena's past which continues to haunt her. It had its plot points in the first two books in the series but now dragging it out is like beating a dead horse, repeatedly. If I heard those whispers in her head one more time I was going to throw the book across the room Ultimately this book fails for me because it has only the tiniest of excuses for a plot. Okay so Raphael's mother is "awakening" and bad earth disasters are resulting from earthquakes, tsunamis this but the book results in the saddest and all too easily resolved final battle which was really unsatisfying.
Really I think this book was written solely so Raphael and Elena finally get around to having sex while floating in the air. I'm not sure why I read so far into this series, but I came to the conclusion that I'm either overly optimistic or a sucker for punishment.

I couldn't even finish, and to be quite honest the reason I got this far with the series was because I couldn't find another series to read.. The repetitiveness was what did me in, Elenas flash backs were over kill and yes s I'm not sure why I read so far into this series, but I came to the conclusion that I'm either overly optimistic or a sucker for punishment. The repetitiveness was what did me in, Elenas flash backs were over kill and yes she had a lot of bad stuff that happened to her but by the fifth flashback of the same scene I was bored and just wanted her to get over it already. Raphael and Elenas connection was weak, and I ended up not even caring about them anymore and wanted to read more on Bluebell.
There were too many repetitive sex scenes that only came about because one or the other needed comfort to get rid of a horrible memory, not because they loved each other apparently they did for no real good reason at all. Better luck next time Singh. Probably more of a two stars, but I expect better of this author and am thus more disappointed. To sum it up: The story that was there was also thin and sadly not as interesting. Might have to give up on these angel books. This one was really boring.
I can't believe Guild Hunter is written by the same author who brought Psy-changeling world to life. It's so hard to grasp that such a potential story is wasted away despite having one of the authors who can present some actual world building I have seen in this genre. I read the first three books in this series back-to-back to give Elena and Raphael a fair chance. I really wanted to see this going somewhere, to find the spark of a major arc like we find in her Psy-changeling series.
The fact th I can't believe Guild Hunter is written by the same author who brought Psy-changeling world to life. The fact that this series had the same couple for the first three books doesn't interfere with how disjointed Guild Hunter felt. The most important part is the lack of chemistry. I have never felt this connection between Elena and Raphael from the first book and even now by the third I still can't find any chemistry except that they like to boink whenever they can.

There is a lot of boinking going on this book, I was skimming through them especially the flying sex scene, LOL it wasn't sexy at all. Raphael is so stiff as a character, I understood it in the first book. Tolerated in the second but by third I wanted to see more from him. There are weird times when he goes cold while he is freaking out about something, I need to see more emotions! I mean you have the Elena-makes-me-a-little-mortal reason already to loosen him up a little. It's no fun reading their interactions with his limited apelike expressions of "mine!
Is it any wonder readers like Bluebell?! Elena was so boring. I found her talent useless, all we are looking at is dead bodies and what's caused them to die, what's so intriguing about it?? There was like one fight scene before the end conflict. There was even more repetition from Elena's past, I'm so done with that honestly it's just dragged beyond tolerable now.
All throughout the book, every dead body and freak-of-nature disasters are building up to the introduction of Caliane. It takes until the end to actually meet her and the fucking end is so lacklustre. The most irksome part of this series is the unnecessary repetitive stuff. Every conversation has to be accompanied by long descriptions instead of just dialogues and those descriptions are always stating the same bullshit we know.
And some of these things are always overtly detailed. You don't always have to take the scenic route from A to B. These books would be so much more concise if all this is cut out. So if you've read my reviews of Angels' Blood and Archangel's Kiss you'll already know it was desperation that lead me to these books. To me that creates a distance between me, as a reader, and the character s the author has created. I feel nothing for Elena, and even less for her Archangel, Raphael. Raphael is described as dangerously beautiful, and there's references to different violent a So if you've read my reviews of Angels' Blood and Archangel's Kiss you'll already know it was desperation that lead me to these books.
Raphael is described as dangerously beautiful, and there's references to different violent acts he's committed against other angels. But me, as the reader, wouldn't know if any of those things are true! I'm told about the things, but without seeing things from Elena, or someone elses eyes, it's just dull facts. As I didn't even finish this book only made it 3 chapters in , I won't be going any further with this series. I procrastinated to read this series.
Serie El Gremio de los Cazadores
I enjoy it but this series never really grabs me. While reading this installment, I kept wondering where the story was headed. It just seem to be a whole lot of nothing. Nothing really seemed to happen, there was hardly any action and it sucks when the heroine is as w The Only Thing Exciting About This Book is the Cover I suggest you read the previous books in the series novella- Angel's Pawn, Angel's Blood and Angel's Kiss prior to reading this installment. Nothing really seemed to happen, there was hardly any action and it sucks when the heroine is as weak as a babe.
A major negative about this series is it has too many flashbacks and internal dialog; and most of the times Raphael's mood is so bitchy, at times he's downright schizophrenic. The majority of the book was sex and pillow talk with a few sprinkles of random violence but not enough to keep me completely interested. I need to enjoy the books I read and not have them feel like a chore.
See a Problem?
I really wanted to continue to like this series, however, it's just not happening. Therefore, I regretfully banish this series from my reading list. I will miss Elena and her sleek black wings but the storyline just isn't strong enough to continually lure my attention, pique my interest and make me want to invest my time into the series.
First two books were average well, the first one at least. The second one was slow, odd and boring , but this one was just too much to take Constantly wallowing in Elena's past was getting on my nerves. Side characters are there just to swoon over the main character and her man, and the plots are getting more and more stupid. I wanted to enjoy this, I really did, I mean: But if the whole fictional world is build on really idiotic rules which can be broken by the main character. Ich habe ein Buch bei BookCrossing. Meh, not even a ton of sex scenes and vampire murders saved this book from book being utterly dull.
I'm so done with this series.
