Entrepreneurial Strategy and Innovation

The EIS track is designed to help students prosper in the spheres of creating business opportunity and corporate innovation management. To this end, we focus on the most recent and important theories that will help you to manage innovation and entrepreneurship in business.

In addition, we provide you with practical tools that will strengthen your strategic skills to succeed in future entrepreneurship and innovation projects. The ultimate goal of this track is to prepare students for leadership and the direction of innovation in all its scope, from the management of corporate innovation systems new products, services, business models and processes to the creation of new international business opportunities and models entrepreneurship.

Our success is reflected in many innovations and spinoffs e. In our teaching, our engaged-scholarship approach provides further evidence of this entrepreneurial focus. Our profile has a pronounced international orientation, given the decreasing relevance of national borders within the context of markets. The program exists for over five years.

This double degree program takes two years to complete and consists of four semesters. The third and second semester are then spent in Berlin.

With more than twenty years of experience in working with SMEs to help them innovate and grow, our vast experience shapes our entrepreneurship teaching and research. Our strengths are drawn from close alignment of research, education and business support in these key academic fields and from the continuous 'real world' feedback received through interaction with the business community. This ensures that our activities are always up to date, focused and precisely matched to the needs of students, businesses and the wider community.

Our PhD community is an integral part of the departmental research community and we recruit the finest calibre PhD students from across the world. As a department, we invest heavily in a research-related infrastructure and aim to create an environment which is supportive and productive, allowing ideas to flourish. Our mission is to research and teach entrepreneurship in a useful way. Sometimes this happens when firms cross the line from outside their industry. A case of a company that seems to have learned to ride the waves of innovation and even disrupt itself is Apple.
