In a very easy to read and simple way I discovered that we all have swords that need to buried as we strive to build family relationships. I'm grateful for the advice and counsel given about valuable gospel principals and how they can influence our lives. I would highly recommend this book to anyone experiencing any difficulty in their lives or know someone else who is. I also was intrigued by the name and read the book jacket. The Anti-Nephi-Lehies
Think 2 x 4. Thankfully, my favorite scripture story was used to get the message of this quick, easy read across. Often I had over-analyzed the motivation, courage, and mindset of the stripling warriors. During this read, I was forced to consider the motivation, courage, and mindset of their parents. I really enjoyed the journey. Sep 04, Danny rated it really liked it Shelves: Michele saw this at Deseret book and was intrigued by the premise.
She read it in one sitting and then gave it to me to read, a quick read. It reminds me very much of the Peacegiver by James Ferrell still one of my favorites. This uses a captivating narrative story to present a heartfelt application of why we all need to learn how important it is to "bury our swords" in order to be of assistance to others dear ones in need of "burying their swords".

Using the story of the Anti-Nephi-Lehites in the Book of Mormon and applying it to our life and relationships. We cannot change those around us, no matter how hard we try and desire to, but we can change ourselves by striving to have our hearts at peace and burying our weapons of war Mar 06, RebSam7 rated it liked it. While the story isn't well-written, it is all too familiar to many parents. The author has some valuable insights on applying the lessons of the Anti-Nephi-Lehies to our own lives and tools for encouraging others to find their own answers from the scriptures without spoon feeding or forcing what we think we already know.
Mar 28, Cara rated it liked it. This was good for me right now. In some ways this book was like most LDS allegories, so it can be slightly cliche, but I needed to wrap my mind around the concept of how the best way to help those you love who are struggling is to help yourself with your own issues. Some good scriptural insights, quick read, nice perspective. Sep 30, Kristi Reeves rated it it was amazing.

I bought this book because it was on clearance at Deseret book and honestly, it's hard for me to turn down a book but this really did intrigue me with the caption "How Christ can remove rebellion from our hearts". Does not go into the atonement as in-depth as "The Peacegiver" by James Farrell, which I liked better, but it was a quick worth-while read. Nov 30, Karen rated it liked it. This is a novel - it wasn't what I expected.
