Mary Janice Davidson The way the characters behaved, so unreal and juvenile. I can only rate the MJD story, it was truly awful in my humble opinion.

Sensual and hot along with mysteries are a good combination as the women gather clues to help solve the murders. Just ok, a little disappointed 2. I think that for anyone not familiar with the authors, this book would be put down not soon after opening it. Fortunately I do know most of the authors work so I could get past the many flaws.

The first story was bad, but they got better as the book went on. I think the last two were the best out of the whole book. I presume that, as man, I was not the intended audience for these stories. Much as I hate to categorise literature as directed at one sex or the other, this did seem directed at women. I've always wondered what that sort of literature would look like. I always find any sort of sex in crime novels boring, silly, and distracting. I can't remember seeing any sex in Ruth Rendell, Reginald Hill or many of the other writers I admire. In these stories the female charac Jeebus this was awful. In these stories the female characters are having hot flushes every ten pages.

Davidson thinks she invented the idea.

But this short story was a very painful read. Out of the four only one was extremely well written and it contained to much "romance" for me. I was expecting more mystery and less hanky panky.
