I am very grateful to have been mentored by a fabulous book wright, and author Tom Evans in the process. I have managed to turn the challenges into very powerful learnings. It has been a powerful transformational journey to arrive at a published book within just 3 months of making the decision to write.

My whole career has been driven by curiosity. I started out as a scientist, gained a PhD in life sciences in and worked in postdoctoral research at Northwestern Medical School in Chicago for a few years.

My curiosity developed from the world of the cell and of physiology to that of the mind and the human brain. As a result my career shifted to learning, delivering and creating brain based personal development trainings. I integrated in my personal and business life the innovative power of being curious and learning to see pass pre-established dogmas and paradigms. I use this approach on a daily basis now with all my coaching clients and love watching the transformations and results they create. It was only natural to end up writing some of these insights.

Yes, it is here. The final end result will be a printed book that merges part 1, 2 with some practical techniques to bring all the learning to life and support leaders transform their leadership and impact. The aim is for that to be ready by Spring Then check out our conversation with Tom Evans.

You have to evolve, grow and start again. It stops us from becoming complacent, from becoming a machine that runs at the same speed, day in and day out. It forces us to reevaluate ourselves, our surroundings, our life. It forces us to adapt and challenges us by taking away the comfort we now. You are faced with a choice, will you live on with the knowledge and not change, or will you take that knowledge and change?

A class size of 50 was anticipated. It became a favorite at the school. He taught the class free of salary and tuition. His goal was for his students to learn the essentials of life, and what mattered most. Buscaglia became so associated with his spontaneous embraces that he could hardly walk down the street without having a stranger come up and give him a hug. We learn countless things in our lifetime.

Some of the things we learn are tucked away in our minds. We may never have a use for them again. We may forget that we ever learned these things in the first place. What I believe he had in mind was the learning of essential life principles. First and foremost being the learning of the meaning of life itself. He believed that life had one primary purpose.

That love gives life its ultimate meaning. He put it like this:. This was the philosophy he believed, taught, and modeled. It was at the core of his countless lectures, and it was the focus of his writing. He believed that once a person really grasped that life is about love.

That if they came to understand that life in its essence is about love —one could never be the same. Such knowledge would compel them to change.
