Alight: The Peril (The Pyxis Series Book 2)

He's the new guy in town, or dream world rather and he seems full of all kinds of helpful information. Zane, with his cool hair, fancy piercings and smexy accent. We're not Team Zane, we're Team Mason! I think there's more to his story and his icy blue eyes than she realizes and she will rue the day she met him. Sophie is still hanging around, more than Corrine would like but hey, it's like they say, "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Ang is still the best BFF a girl could have and I'm so glad she has a love interest.

Mason is still made of awesome but my heart hurt for him. He's doing the best he can as Corrine's Shield but even he may not be able to protect her from what lies ahead. Author Of The Week: Each week we will be interviewing a different YA author and highlighting their upcoming release! Mason is perfect and he and Corinne are one of those couples that just have to be together because they are meant-to-be so how their relationship developed in Alight I wasn't such a fan of how it went. I desperately need them to be together so to see them drifting apart and having these secrets between them I really didn't like that. I have firmly come to the conclusion that I hate love triangles.

I purely HATE them. They just cause me so much stress and I am always getting angry at the lead female and freaking out over how the story will end. Enter our other boy Zane. I don't like him. At times I kinda hated him. He's just not Mason. And Mason is my guy. Zane is alright and all but I don't know there's just something about him I don't like. And it's not that he's coming between Corinne and Mason I don't understand his actions and why he was doing some of the things he was.

Why is he so concerned about Corinne instead of his own Pyxis? Why is he around all the time? I don't like him and I don't trust him. There is so much drama and important things happening in Alight. With the Pyxis series being a trilogy there is one thing I was afraid of and that was that Alight would become the typical middle book. You know the one where not much really happens and it's all just a big build up to the showdown in the final book. Alight was in no way a typical middle book. There was romance and action and even a big showdown itself in Alight. It was jam-packed with twists and turns, some having me jumping up and yelling to an empty room I KNEW IT, others having me gasping and gobsmacked with my jaw hitting the floor going OMG I never saw that coming.

Alight is an increidble addition to the Pyxis series and the ending has left me reeling totally heartbroken dying to find out what is going to happen in the final book.
