As I read I could hear him saying the words. I was in a very dark place in my life and reading this book showed me that no matter what I go through I am never alone. Reading this I realized that the little petty things in life that I thought were hurting me is nothing compared to what other people have to experience.

While reading the realization dawned on me that I was a ungrateful person living life based on the possessions that I held, and keeping a crowd of people around me that were showing me no good.

I needed a reality check and this book is what helped give me that final push to changing my life, and I would like to thank the author for taking the time to share his story. I'm sure it was hard to write about the experiences that you went through in your life, and most people don't realize that the book may be over but the story never ends.

When reading books it's hard to know what to take from them, but months after reading this I still remember it's message, and how much of an impact this book has had on my life. Whenever I am in a tough situation I always remember that somewhere out there in the world somebody else is gong through something way worse than me.

I enjoyed reading this book to my 16 year old special needs son whom is nonverbal and also has CP. At some point in your life, you've come up with an idea. For many of us, the idea isn't the hard part - it's sharing it with others.

Active Listening

As emotional beings, we have a hard time unpacking critique from criticism. The feedback we get on our idea often feels like a personal attack , and this, in turn, makes it hard to share our thoughts. When they hear an idea, rather than immediately dismissing it, transformational and visionary leaders will often nod their acknowledgment, then say "Yes, and This does not mean they agree with your idea. It shows that they have taken it in, and are taking elements from it that they find valuable to create something new.

Lovely piece of work. Lots of people would have used most of the idions but possibly would not have recognised the common thread running through them. Shows the power of language.
