See her factories, her rivers. If her hills weren't in the way I could see into the windows of the apartment across the street. Just go live in the hammock in that weirdo's attic and leave us alone Dan. The only one doing something even remotely new is Blair, and it's in the form of a British guy at least four years older than her. But other than that, this series is definitely starting to lose whatever momentum it might have gained up to this point.

If I remember correctly, I think it was about everyone going off for summer vacation. Actually it was kind of sad, because hardly any couples were together like Blair and Nate!! It was good, although I would have liked it better if there was more romance I am excited to read the last two books in the series, and the next one that I think is coming out this fall!

Nov 11, Amy rated it liked it Recommends it for: I am too old and too poor and too jaded to be reading these books and yet, unperturbed, I keep buying them second hand from Amazon and reading them all the same. They are terrible and inappropriate and, like all the best books, far too old for the people who are actually reading them seriously. I am not recommending them to you or anyone especially not your twelve year old sister but hey: I'm gonna read them all anyway.
I'm gonna read them with no thought for my poor brain cells screaming in ag I am too old and too poor and too jaded to be reading these books and yet, unperturbed, I keep buying them second hand from Amazon and reading them all the same. I'm gonna read them with no thought for my poor brain cells screaming in agony at the continued fictional existence of insanely rich and beautiful vapid beasts. I expected a lot more from the book because the show is so intriguing and dramatic. The book was just plain boring. I was very disappointed when nothing dramatic happened.
The whole book was about the same thing, relationship problems, and college applications. I expected what did happen, even though it wasn't that big. The ending was predictable, Blair, Serena, Nate and their friends all ended up at the colleges that wanted to go to and they all got into new relationships. May 11, Steph rated it did not like it Shelves: If this is the last book taking place in the school year they graduate, except Jenny , how come there three more books after this?

However, she was still immature and annoying mainly because she was so proud of the fact that she'd snared Lord Marcus Beaton-Rhodes. When it comes to Blair, throw in good looks and royalty and you can never go wrong. She took every opportunity she got to show off to Serena who's 'going out' with Nate. If she hadn't done that, she would have been bearable.

Compared to Blair, Serena was incredibly likeable. Of course, the author didn't need to keep reminding the reader of her luxurious blonde hair, perfect figure and gorgeous face. That aside though, Serena pretty much stayed out of everyone else's business and had a clear focus on what she wanted view spoiler [ which was to play the main character in a remake of Breakfast At Tiffany's.
She also dealt with Nate's constant stream of tears very well indeed. It's like nothing could bring her down. Nate deteriorated a lot as he was no longer just a pothead; he was a frequent crier as well. He missed Blair yet he didn't have the guts to tell her so. In the meantime, he was basically eye-candy on Serena's arm.
It'd be great if he could pull himself together perhaps in the next installment. Dan became almost as bad as Nate - he was lovestruck and sappy. Thankfully Vanessa didn't wind up like him though she turned into a view spoiler [cheater hide spoiler ]. Overall, 'Nothing Can Keep Us Together' was a quick, fun read filled with plenty of intentional and unintentional humorous scenes.

Almost everyone is excited for college but someone is thinking of deferring for a year and someone might not even graduate high school. This 8th book in the Gossip Girl series was a let down.
She seriously has no feelings at all. She goes from loving Nate and wanting to have a relationship with him, to finally having a relationship with him and not wanting anything to do with it. Vanessa knows that Dan is crazy about her and I hated how it felt that she was leading him on. I'm ready for Dan to get a happy ending. Also, Serena and Blair audition for a movie called Breakfast At Fred's , which is suppose to be a sort of Breakfast At Tiffany's remake, and Serena isn't even sure if she wants to be in the movie.
But she auditions and gets the part and doesn't care that Blair is upset. She knows that Blair wanted the part badly, but now that she has the part, she is excited. Oh Serena, you're a terrible friend! Now onto book Oh how I can't wait to get through this series. Apr 06, Remiela rated it it was amazing Shelves: Best book of the entire series so far!!! Four more to go! It's so incredibly realistic and crazy and bubbly that it's so unreal. It definitely discusses the modern day lives of teens in completely different perspectives. It's just what we need. Finally the school year and, the for most of those wild and crazy Upper East Side private school students we have come to know and love, the end of high school and those annoying uniforms forever.
Once again Blair and Serena are in competition, this time over the speaker position at graduation and also for the starring role in a remake of Breakfast at Tiffany's. Blair and Nate have once again broken up and Serena and Nate have, once again hooked up Everybody is looking forward to their new adventures in the fall but before they scatter and go their separate ways they intend to have the summer of their lives.
Although targeted to the young adult - 15 and up audience the stories cover rather mature themes, including recreational drug use, underage drinking and casual sex making this a read that probably should not be shared with much younger siblings. As the series has progressed the teens' escapades have gotten more outrageous and the laugh out loud moments more frequent. See all 44 reviews.
