Oct 04, Hailey Rose rated it really liked it. Wow, this book surprised me!! I was intrigued by the title and the cover, but with all indie-published books, I was a little afraid of what I was getting myself into.

Some things didn't seem at all historically accurate, but again, I don't know what time period it's set in, so maybe it is historically accurate.

Overall, I recommend this book because of the sweet, deep story that kept me turning pages and adorable characters I grew to love. I really enjoyed The Blacksmith King. I was surprised at the depth the book had for being a first novel. It wasn't a fun light read the entire time, there was a lot of heartache and surprises. Just when you thought things were working out, another tragedy would hit.

But in the end all the problems and questions were resolved. Lila and Asher were great well thought out characters. I look forward to reading this. The author is a young lady in our church! Wowza, this is amazing!!! The depth of the story, the loveable characters cheers for strong secondary character!!! I didn't enjoy the grammatical and punctuation errors heavily peppered throughout the book, and it was really hard to tell what time period it's set in.
