Swimming With Crocodiles

The crocs were definitely the highlight. I had just heard about how amazing Cuba was. Finding out about the crocs was a bonus, and I probably could have spent the entire trip hanging out with them. What does it feel like being face to face with a crocodile?

You learn their demeanour pretty quick and how to be around them. I never felt scared or threatened being in the water with them.

Crocs can be unpredictable. What pre-dive safety briefing were you given before jumping in? The main thing we were told was to avoid getting to the side of them in their line of sight. To have the opportunity to be in the presence of a prehistoric animal, to feel the adrenaline and to experience something you can't experience anywhere in the world.

The American crocodile is one of the larger crocodile species. Males can reach lengths of 6. American crocodiles do not regularly attack large animals, as most large crocodilians do. Like any other large crocodilian, the American crocodile is potentially dangerous to humans, though it tends not to be as aggressive as some other species. You'll be having some serious eye contact.
