Something Wanton (Mystics & Mayhem Book 3)
You can think of me as your supernatural tour guide. Three months ago, I was just your average, ordinary, ghost-seeing, Senior in high school. I had sucky parents, awesome best friends, an annoying stalker, and a solid plan to get me far away from Moonlight, Missouri. Then I fell in love with a vampire. And fou Welcome back to the World of Weird. And found out I was a witch. And banished a demon a couple of times. And then, because the Bad Karma Fairy thinks I'm her personal plaything and loves to make me suffer I kind of died. Now I'm sharing my body with a demon, my Prince Charming has turned into the Asshole King, I might be falling for one of my best friends, and there's a witch hunter who wants my head on a plate--or my butt tied to a stake.

This just blew me away This book will leave you wanting many things, mainly a 4th book. I mean it, Ms. Myers, I need a 4th book this second, because I just need more of Ember and her crazy world!!
This book in the Mystics and Mayhem series was quite simply amazing. The first book was awesome, but this series literally got better and better, and I didn't think it was possible for me to enjoy a series so much.

Sure there are series that I love and will re-read This just blew me away Sure there are series that I love and will re-read, but there are only a select few that just blow me away. This is one of those series. This installment in the series is packed full of action, adventure, romantic craziness, and heartbreak. So much happens in this novel that it's almost impossible to do a summary without giving away spoilers, so just know that a ton of stuff happens, and you will be glued to the page.
You'll fly through the pages, and want to purposely slow down just so you don't miss anything or finish the book too quick. The writing was fantastic and the characters and setting were so well described I felt like it was playing out right in front of me. Ember grows significantly in this novel. She gains new abilities that I feel we're only just being introduced to, gains new friends and new enemies, and loses people close to her that changes her forever. A beloved character is killed, and my heart broke so much, I was wanting to throw my tablet across the room.
I experienced a roller coaster of emotions with Nathan. For a good majority of this book, I couldn't stand him and I have loved him from the beginning , but then by the end, I was back to liking- not loving- him. I was kind of mad a Ember for forgiving him so easily, but I guess the whole soul mate thing allows for easier forgiving. All I know, is he would have a whole lot more apologizing to do if I were in Ember's position. I'm not going to lie, I kinda fell for Tyler in this one. He already had a special place in my heart, but he was there for Ember and wanted to help her no matter what.
Then the end happened, and my heart was torn to shreds. I especially loved the introduction of Skippy! He was a great addition, and I hope we see more of him. Overall, I highly recommend this series and this book because you are missing out by not reading it. It has a little bit of everything for everyone, and you won't be disappointed! With a sarcastic, witty main character, and plenty of action and romance, you can't go wrong.
Get this book now! Oct 19, Theresa rated it it was amazing. I'm left wanting something alright: Tissues, more revenge, book 4: Be sure to have tissues handy for this one! The author gets you so very attached the the characters you can feel their joy and their pain. Even though I haven't met a vampire, demon, angel, witch, or any of the other paranormal characters in the book they are described so well you feel like you know them.
What they look like, what they are doing, it all makes sense and is easy to follow. The book plays out just like a movie I'm left wanting something alright: The book plays out just like a movie for you to watch. You will want to read Something Witchy and Something Wicked first to set the stage. And now a bit about the story Ember wakes up and learns what it means to be tainted. She is finding it hard to adjust to her new "half" of a life. She misses Nathan, she feels trapped at home, and she is so very cold and hungry.
When she finds out other witches are being targeted and killed she takes things into her own hands to battle her demons and set things right in the world. Kim, Blake, Grams, and Tyler are back to help her along the way, along with a new cast of characters we meet for the first time. Her and Nathan are soul mates, but they seem to have been torn apart. Tyler is there to help her pick up the pieces. As she is torn between her feelings for Nathan and Tyler she fights to save her friends and fellow witches. Can she find the traitor before it is too late or will the bad guys win? She's eavesdropping around the corner.
That look stayed with me for the rest of the day I was still seeing it when I gave up and got up to start cleaning my cage -- oops, my room. God knows I won't miss your company. I'll grown on you. I felt that pain all the way to the depths of my soul. Honestly, each minute that goes by that I'm not with you, I feel like I'm going mad. You're not getting rid of me that easy, baby. If you behave, I will give you a lollipop.
Do you have anything to say before you die? Oct 19, Paula rated it it was amazing Shelves: Oct 31, Tawnya Raab rated it it was amazing. I am sitting here trying to type through tears as I try to decide how I feel about an author who would devastate me in such a way.
Over the last can't remember how many hours I've been soaking up this book. I've laughed out loud so my kids came running, I've bawled my eyes out like a 2 year old who's lost their ice cream and I've attempted to beat Ember over the head with my fork a few too many times. I think my children might be worried about my mental health. I can only OMG!!!
I can only hope that with unexpected twists and turns Mrs. Myers will redeem herself with the next book which can't come fast enough. This third installment of Ember's story covers a lot of ground, from new abilities to new enemies and all the teenage angst to go with it, you'll either love or hate Ember by the time it's over. Me I'm definitely in hate with her at the moment but what can I say, she destroyed me. Can't tell you how, you'll just have to read that for yourself, but I can say that no matter what you expect to happen, it will be bigger and bolder.
Well that's my opinion. Can't wait to see others. AJ Myers I sure hope you know what you're doing and are prepared to relieve my angst immediately. Feb 19, Juana rated it it was amazing Shelves: Oh no I did not see this coming. I still liked him so very much. I was in shock and did not expect it to turn out that way. I need to breath a little: Anyways I hope the next book comes out fast. I cannot wait for it any longer. Nathan and Ember are my favorite characters they fit so well and their stories were so interesting.
Something Wanton a Mystics & Mayhem Novel by AJ Myers
For some reason he reminds me so much of another character from the books of VA named Adrian. I love all the characters and their part in this book, I've only a read a few books where a big group of friends like these make a big huge part so clean and natural in the book without getting in each other's way. I cannot really say what I loved the most of this book I just loved it from start to end. I can't wait to see what Ember is up to next. I can't wait for the third book!
Another great story that can't be put down - obviously Oct 11, Michelle rated it liked it Shelves: It was only then that I realized I had book 2 instead of book 1 in my hands. This is definitely a series that needs to be read in order. I liked that book 2 didn't completely rehash the events in the first book, but it can be kind of confusing if you didn't read the two I accidentally picked up Something Wicked before I read the first book, Something Witchy.
Are You an Author?
I liked that book 2 didn't completely rehash the events in the first book, but it can be kind of confusing if you didn't read the two books back to back, or close in time to each other. Something Wicked picks up a little after the huge fight scene at the end of Something Witchy. Something Wicked is a great book for getting answers. Most of my unanswered questions from the first book were addressed in this book, and there is some good action as well. I enjoyed Something Wicked, and the ending made me very curious about the next book in the series.
Ember really comes into her own in this book. We find out more about her powers and we get to see her in action once again, as she tried to vanquish a big bad demon. What I liked about the demon storyline, was that it wove into Nathan's backstory. We got to learn more about his past and about how he is connected to Ember.
Nathan and Ember are as adorable as ever. I do kind of wish that they got a chance to just enjoy being with each other, instead of having to fight evil the whole time, but maybe next book they can have a chance to have some fun. I loved that we got to see more of Kim and Blake in Something Wicked.
I was so excited that they got to be a part of Ember's new life. Kim is great and I hope we see a lot more of her in the next book. Something Wicked is a good second book. It bridges the gap from the plot of the first book and really opens this up to being an interesting series. There were a few slow parts of the story, but overall I really enjoyed learning more about Nathan's past and I loved the kick butt action fight scenes.
Oh my, it certainly caught my attention! I have no idea what it means, but I need to find out. Ember thought she had vanished Jack into a lost plane and was finally going to live a peaceful life with her Vampire boyfriend Nathan but she soon discovers that it is not over, someone helped Jack come back. His obsession for Ember as strong as always. He is killing innocent girls that look just like her and dying their hair red like hers. Ember has to vanish the demon that's inside Jack for good before he hurts anyone else but ember doesn't want to kill her friend Jack in the process.

In order Ember thought she had vanished Jack into a lost plane and was finally going to live a peaceful life with her Vampire boyfriend Nathan but she soon discovers that it is not over, someone helped Jack come back. In order for Ember to do that she needs to know who this demon is, why he is so obsessed with her, and how to destroy him with ought hurting her friend Jack.
But before she does all that she needs to accept who she is and learn how her powers work. She will discover what Nathan had been hiding from her about their past and the guilt he has for something he believes was his fault. Ember will need to make a few hard decisions that may result in losing Nathan but she is willing to take the risks if it means Nathan will be out of harms way.
While there is a whole lot of action, there is also lots of romance my favorite. Myers made an amazing story line, by giving the characters their ups and downs in their relationship made it even more realistic.
Something Wanton
Nathan and Ember love each other but they do disagree when it comes to making decisions that will put Ember in danger and Nathan does not agree with it. I don't blame him for not agreeing with her, the poor guy had suffered so much and losing the love of his life over and over and over again wasn't something he'd like to go through again. I really didn't want to finish reading Something Wicked because I know I have to wait for the next book to come out and the waiting is a torture specially with that amazing cliffhanger.
If you haven't read this series you really need to check them out, you will love them. Jan 07, Tara rated it really liked it Shelves: So there are some really obvious hints in this book, which I picked up on immediately, and then there are some less obvious ones which I couldn't figure out. I like always guessing at what's going to happen and sometimes getting it right - sometimes not.
When you see the obvious hints, you're like - come on, I know where you're going with this. And it's almost like Myers does that to trick you out of guessing the harder hints. That being said, I love these books. I love Nathan and Ember's relati So there are some really obvious hints in this book, which I picked up on immediately, and then there are some less obvious ones which I couldn't figure out. I love Nathan and Ember's relationship. I loved hearing about her past lives. I think it's very obvious that Tyler is an angel, and I was really surprised it didn't come out by the end of this book.
I liked their tongue in cheek 'help from above' nod to Tyler when he was upstairs from them, but they were obviously talking about heaven. Lots of witches popped up in this book. It became a game of 'guess who else is a witch! I want to reread book 1 now that I've read book 2 and see if there are hints about all that we learned in book 2. It can't be over Be sure to read Something Witchy first. I couldn't believe this book - it was just as good as the first. We got to know more about the characters, although Tyler is still a mystery, but I have my suspicions.
Love how gentle Nate the vampire is even though is isn't always. Then there was the small side story of Charles and Mary Beth - it brought tears to my eyes - even though they were just a small tiny It can't be over Then there was the small side story of Charles and Mary Beth - it brought tears to my eyes - even though they were just a small tiny sub plot. Then there is the whole Nate and Ember fighting and making up, who can resist that. It is a cliff hanger for sure. I'm hoping there is a book three so I can find out what happens to someone who is tainted.
Even though all Ember and Nathan do is fight, I still love it! They are both stubborn and it kind of just makes it funny how angry he actually gets and she's just like yeah yeah why ever I do what I want! I love Kim and Blame too they are awesome! I really want to know why Tyler actually is since he is obviously something. The end if this was such a huge cliffhanger that I can't wait for the next one! Like she is obvi dying but death won't take her Not that I want her to die but still!
What e heck does is mean! This book was great. Not as fun or lovey as the last book, but there was a lot of stuff that had to happen. There's a lot of loose ends associated with this one, but I understand the need to set up some more books in the series. We still don't know who was behind the ending of Book 1, so I hope they follow up on that I was sad that there was always so much tension between Ember and just about everyone. I wish she would just catch a break at some point.
Oct 05, Amber Sage- smith rated it liked it. Three and a half stars.. This book picks up right where the other left off and it's way better. The lead female Ember is far stronger in this book and thank goodness to because the whining is what killed the previous book for me. There is one hell of a cliffhanger in this book and I will be reading the next book just to see how it ends.
Second book to Something Witchy. Just as good as the first book. It continues witht the characters of the first book and adds more. Very good read, fast and exciting.
