Feast upon the Words of Christ
Ezekiel, a temple priest writing around the same time as Nephi, [5] used similar imagery in his vision of a scroll, written on both sides with a message of warning from the Lord Ezekiel 2: The Psalms also describe the word of the Lord as sweet like honey Psalm The word feast implies more than a simple, single course meal with one dish. Great power can come from memorizing scriptures. The word of God contains three very strong elements that intertwine and sustain one another to form an immovable rod.
These three elements include, first, the scriptures, or the words of the ancient prophets. All of these are important sources of spiritual knowledge, and the additional contexts of 2 Nephi 31—32 add even more. Often times, in many of these settings, the Spirit may prompt individuals to repent, or prophets and apostles may issue a divinely inspired call for all to repent and improve. These many avenues through which one can partake of the words of Christ come together to form a veritable smorgasbord of divinely inspired learning opportunities. Yet, as Elder Joseph B.

That is my hope that it can spark some inspiration that could be used for the needs of each individual primary: I have searched for weeks for a lesson that felt right. Thanks so much for your time and effort. I'm glad you found it: We are to feast upon the words of Christ.
The Book of Mormon explains how we can obtain the spiritual strength to forgive:. Love, including the power to forgive, is a divine gift. Earnest and energetic prayer can open the heart to receive that gift. In Mosiah 4 and Mosiah 5 , King Benjamin discusses several signs that indicate when our sins have been forgiven.
He had just given a powerful sermon to his people, and their hearts had been softened by his words; they viewed themselves in their carnal state and prayed that the atoning blood of Christ would make them clean again.
Feast Upon the Words of Christ
Feeling joy is one indication that we are returning to the right path. It is impossible to feel joy and sorrow simultaneously, so it is safe to assume that when our hearts are filled with joy we are in the process of overcoming wickedness. Third, when we repent we are filled with the love of God see Mosiah 4: Hearts that are filled with love are full. There is no room for hatred, revenge, discouragement, or fear.
A fifth sign is that we are inclined to impart of our substance to others in need see Mosiah 4: The Savior lifted the burdens of others; we will desire to do the same. The scriptures are a veritable banquet of insights and divine counsel. Let us feast at the table often.
