Lethal Injection: A Chick-Lit Mystery Novel
View all 3 comments. Five Stars for the best body hide I've read this year. We are just one week from the big day when a dead guy in found at the wedding venue right before the rehearsal festivities are about to start, and the dead guy has a connection to the groom. Hold on tight, this is one story that will knock your high heels right off. Why do I love this series so much? The author writes a fantastic mystery filled with drama but filled with humor too.

She always tops herself and leaves me wanting more. Nicey is an unforgettable heroine not only because she is independent, smart, and wears some of the best footwear in the world but because she is a true friend. She will fight for her friends until she gets to the whole truth and she refuses to publish anything sketchy even when the publisher is holding her beautiful feet to the fire.
She also tries to hold her temper in the toughest of times.
She has the right connections and because of the woman she is they will step up to help her whenever they can. She also is learning to listen to her heart just a bit more in this installment too and they made this reader very happy. LynDee Walker gives us a story the flows quickly with plenty of twists to keep us on our heels.
The mystery is complex, the characters continue to evolve and the new characters are memorable and all seem to be hiding something. This series is best if you start with Front Page Fatality and read the series in order to understand the characters and their history. Also for me each one is better than the last and becomes my new favorite in the series. Very enjoyable series and characters. I love this series. I consider it one of my favourite discoveries this year and I was lucky as 5 had already been released when I came across it. I think the thing I really like about these books is that Nichelle is so damn good at her job.
Nichelle does have a bit of a tendency to find herself in the firing line but it kind of works, the way that the books play out. In this installment, sports reporter Grant Parker, a regular in previous books, is marrying his girlfriend. Nichelle set them up in a previous book so the reader is more than familiar with them and due to her orchestration of their relationship, Nichelle is a bridesmaid who is going above and beyond the call of duty with wedding organisation and is determined that everything be perfect.
The first spanner in the works there is the discovery of a dead body in a wine barrel at the wedding location and really, it all just kind of snowballs from there. I always find the mysteries really interesting in these books and they do end up being quite intricate but without being confusing. Nichelle really does have a wealth of fabulous contacts and she is well versed in the politics of what she can and cannot use in her pieces so she manages to get the story without treading on toes or offending people.
Nicey what her friends call her is involved in a friendly rivalry with the crime reporter for a local TV station with the two of them going head to head in the fight for exclusives. She is passionate about her work and wanting to give victims a voice as well as get the facts across. Given that he appears to be in the business of furthering crime in some way or another his exact role has never been made clear and Nichelle has a strict policy of not asking and Nichelle is in the business of uncovering and exposing it, it seems likely that eventually this will cause some sort of catastrophic explosion.
Now the only problem is waiting for the next one. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. Still a solid suspense, definitely better toward the end, but since it dealt with h's colleague and good friend Parker and touched private life of many characters, I took the romantic part more 'seriously'.

I knew Parker wasn't a saint, but was it really necessary to repeatedly mention his manwhorish past and how beautiful it was, that 3. I knew Parker wasn't a saint, but was it really necessary to repeatedly mention his manwhorish past and how beautiful it was, that he fell for a nice girl?! Don't we have more than enough manwhores in contemporary romance genre?! Does it mean h's bf Joey is also one?
Coz the lightness of hs mind about it was very obvious. The main reason I like the heroine, she is not judgemental; and I adored her loyal attitude toward OWs, even the villains. In this one she showed less loyalty, if I phrase it politely The main romance part - her and Joey. Almost 2 years acquaintance and 1 year together if I did my math correctly and she still doesn't know much about him?.. They said ILY - thanks God! But how long would it take them to really come together?
Awww, Nicey is back. I just love these books.

I think she is one of my favorite characters. She has a lot of testosterone around her, but she still seems to find trouble. However, she always gets the job done and usually beats the her cohort "Charlie" from the rival network with the scoop. Shoes, this girl is all about the shoes. That's definitely something that I like about her as well. She has ethics and is genuinely caring and always tries to be there for her friends.
This book has more plot tw Awww, Nicey is back.
Lethal Injection: A Chick-Lit Mystery Novel
This book has more plot twists than a bag of pretzels and the character development is above par. I fell in love with Nichelle in book one and she hasn't let me down yet. I haven't missed a book yet and don't plan to do so in the future. This is a great series and I highly recommend it. Thanks Henery Press for this and all the requests you have so graciously approved and to Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest review. I can honestly say that there are not many Henery Press books that I've read that I would not recommend. That hen house has definitely got their coop together.
This is the first book in the series that I have read. I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my fair and honest review. Even This is the first book in the series that I have read. Even though I am not familiar with the author, I enjoyed the story and the twists and turns kept me guessing all the way until the end. I plan to read this series from the beginning. Another winner from LynDee Walker. Nichelle is at her best when worried about her friends and she's def at her best in this book. Romance wise- Nichelle May be ready to make some steps forward Already ready for next book! Full review to come closer to pub date.
