I'm curious as to how, because this book was so full of misspelled words, grammar and punctuation errors, and horri bly misused words adjectives used as verbs, verbs used as nouns, and totally incorrect words like "desecrated" for "decimated" and "abscond" for "escape" , that I struggled through half the book before I finally gave up and quit.

If the characters had been interesting enough, I might have tried to continue struggling to make sense of her bizarre way of writing. They were boring, and not worth the battle. Now I know to avoid this "author". First, I want to apologize to Ms. Griffin for taking longer to read Conquered Heart, but my own writing career has kept me extremely busy over the last four months. I thank her for the honor to read her suspenseful Medieval romance. Conquered Heart is a fast-paced, well-written historical romance.

Griffin gave me the opportunity to have a glimpse into the Scottish fight for independence and the life of Robert the Bruce. She definitely did her research. She is a caring, loving woman with plenty of courage and daring. He is, of course, a brave, fierce warrior.

That is what I expect from a Scottish highlander, yet underneath his exterior, he has a kind, caring heart. Even though he has had his share of struggles, he is still willing to open his heart to Kerrigan. I loved his protectiveness toward her and felt his anguish when he thought he had lost her.

If you enjoy Medieval romances set in the highlands of Scotland with brave, loyal heroes and heroines, then you will enjoy Conquered Heart as much as I did.

Sorry to say I was not as impressed as many were here. I found the cave life unbelievable They had no problem coming and going and smoke, the smell of cooking fires and so forth. The second cave for the horses too horses also easily fed The boy was always being sent to the village in winter with no winter clothes even in the snow. Why I don't know, the villagers surely took all their food with them when they fled and it was too dangerous once occupied by the English.

Also I didn't see any kind of real plot, just coming, going and coming back again. Have read the entire Gunn Series and love them all. Kara Griffin is a wonderfully detailed writer. James was a tuff strong guardsman but had a tender heart.

Loved him for his loyalty and courageous actions. Ending was more than I expected but happy. Would love to read more from this author.

If you have been following the Gunn Gaurdsman series, you will like this next book in this series featuring James, the healer. A lot of your favorites are back to complete this highland saga. The title of this story can be about the hero or the heroine, which makes it very intense.

I love reading about the Gunn clan mayhap because I am a descendant of the clan Gunn. These warriors are all awesome in character, strength and honor.

Kara writes amazing novels and i highly recommend her make sure you read the books in the order they r written. I recommend it to all of us that wish a highlander would ride up on a big white stallion, and wisk us away. If you love loyal and honorable Scottish men, this one is for you!
