Checkmated (an erotic romance) (The Billionaires Pawn Book 1)
Read this book because it will make you laugh, and cum a bit. It's about two adults, one who is young and Nieves and thinks she can take on a billionaire and bring him to his knees, and another who is righteous well respected and thinks nothing of manipulating those around him to suite his own purposes, and will use anyone to help achieve this goal. I can't wait to read the second book in this series! Eden is betrayed by friend and lover Jameson, Griffen's girl leaves him for Jameson Heartsore Eden is nearly accosted over a drink one evening by Griffin and gets the heck out of the line of fire by going home.
Seems to be mutual hate-hate going on with past injustices for her or her family hinted about. Every contact with him she gets humiliated but keeps ploughing on. He ruins her social standing, what's next? I keep reading hoping she'll somehow wind up even with him, so anticipate next book.

Right now I want her find his achilles heel and stab deep! The story, as it seems set to develop, is not that bad, but the writing put me off. It is very unpolished and unappealing, and more than once I was tempted to give up reading.

The dialogues are flavourless, and even the sex scene left me cold, due to lack of strength in the writing. The story ended in a cliffhanger for no reason other than it was obviously divided into several parts sold separately and turned into a money maker.
