Got mad at some of them over and over but was happy to Ava finally finding her own place in life. Hope there is more of this world. If you know the council and guardians are corrupted and possibly behind slave market, killing your friend, tried kidnapping a child you just found again and attempt to break into your sanctuary of rebels you do not trust them to guard anyone or know where anyone is, unless you want that person dead.

I have no idea how to review all six books without spoilers. I got the first one as a free offer and bought all the rest one after the other. Ava is a sympathetic and conflicted heroine and although the plot is not original - hybrid supernatural doomed to save or break the world. And there are a couple of instances where Farrell nearly jumped the shark.

But the action is non stop, the characters nuanced and the world created is compelling. Farrell slips in a twist when you expect it least.

So gear up for Fae, vampires, witches, shifters, add in a catalyst and stir to set the pot boiling. What an amazing storyteller! I have just finished the original Ava Delaney books and feel like the journey is just beginning. What an intriguing world these words take you too. I recommend to all who have an imagination. Like I said, love, love, love it! I cant wait to read more. The Ava Delaney books are unusual and introduces a new way of thinking about the supernatural.

They are full of heroism, courage, friendships and adventures. I enjoyed every one of them. These are more gritty than romantic fairy tale. If you like your vampires to be tall, dark and irresistible and the heroine and he to fall madly in love, this series is not that. The characters are more flawed and more real.

After a time it feels as though the story is trying be longer then it actually is by adding similar repetition. Hence making the read a little boring and tedious. The dark days are coming, and Ava's final deal will prove the most costly. When Ava first saved Carl from a vampire, she had no idea what would happen next. The dark days are coming, quicker than expected.
