It's similar to the process of the butterfly in which it comes into being as one thing and later becomes something even MORE. Transitions can seem difficult at first becuase it is unfamiliar but as with all things that we encounter, we must learn how to adapt, accept, and therefore experience it in a new light. There's absolutely no way you can get out of this one! Simply put, every single experience you have, each and every single moment, is contributing to your growth. You may have learned something major and now have added new content to your life experience which brings growth.
Or you may have learned something so minute that it barely caught your attention but I can promise, you've been touched with a hint of new experience which again, is contributing to your growth. Thankfully, we have very powerful minds which can help us understand things in life. The mind, which i must point out is not the same as the brain, is something which is completely intangible yet so prominant in our life experience. Our minds help us perceive this World which we tend to call "Reality" we'll get into that later.
Our perception as you may have heard, is what shapes our Reality and what we Experience. Two people can be walking down the same exact sidewalk during the exact same time, yet, each of them will be experiencing something totally different! Look at me throwing the Weight Watchers logo in the pic — how did that get in there?! I took a bit of insulin when I ate those, but I think it was too much. Then I started to sweat, and new I had low blood sugar. By the time I got home not to worry, less than a five minute drive home it was Instead of running to chocolate like I normally would, I sat and ate about a cup and a half of grapes.
And then was immediately full and not ready for dinner. Look at how pretty it is, even in shitty lighting! As I was on my train ride home, I went to trusty Pinterest to figure out what to make for dinner.
I did a spin on that for a quick 15 minute dinner last night. Sausage and Potato Stew Ingredients 4 ounces sweet Italian sausage 1. Reduce heat to medium low, add in the chicken broth, paprika, potatoes, crushed red pepper and pepper. Cook for about 10 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork tender. Turn the heat up, add the corn starch and whisk for one minute. Remove from heat and add the baby kale.

I wish that was a better picture, but this was delicious. Super hearty, the broth almost tasted like gravy and it had a nice kick to it thanks to the crushed red peppers. The whole bowl came in at 7 smart points via the WW recipe builder. I am super excited because thanks to Weight Watchers, they sent me a whole goodie box to have a Girls Night In, complete with wine glasses, craft supplies, an Amex gift card to buy food and wine for the party.

I was on the Weight Watchers app and really had my heart set on picking up Honeycomb cereal — a whole cup is only 3 smart points! So I pulled out my trusty scanner, and most of the granolas were so point heavy for such a small amount, because of the high sugar content. So after a couple minutes, I settled on Kashi:. Love the sweet tart combo, and breakfast came in at 5. My boss was leaving early so I took a late lunch.
I had a couple things to pick up at the store, and decided to get my steps in at the same time and walked the 7 block from my office to get there.

My wallet thanks me too! I had apples, celery and salad bar for lunch on my list. Although I did spend about 15 minutes walking through the store, you know, just to get extra steps. I was hoping they would have my new favorite apple — cameo, but they had just about every other apple, but that. These are the apple varieties that I have never heard of: I bought the Pinata apple, simply because it was on sale and it seemed firm.
Although Red Delicious apples feel firm to me, but I absolutely hate the pithy insides. Do you even remember other apples growing up besides Granny Smith and Red Delicious?! I was happy that it was no longer windy in Chicago, just foggy. That direction is walking east, towards Lake Michigan, and the closer you got to the lake the foggier it got. I did my usual chicken tender off the hot bar and chopped it up into my salad. The chicken finger was 4 points, I had a point of chick peas, and the rest were veggies. I wanted to pick up a salad dressing to keep in the fridge at work, and decided on this one:.
Either way, it was delicious! My salad was 7 points. Who am I kidding, I am always tempted, but having something in my stomach before the hour and ten minute train ride home makes all the difference. Slightly more tart than the cameo apple, but delicious non the less. And I never really cared how many points my party pizza Friday was, because I knew I was going to eat it anyway. I dove in the freezer before work to thaw chicken wings for dinner. I had my whole day planned well enough that I could have the chicken wings and still be within my point range for the day.
What a different feeling that was! But I planned for it. While the point ranges differed on the website, I did not batter my wings, used zero point wing sauce, and since I had 16 points going into dinner, just counted dinner as 16 points and I am moving on. I planned it, tracked it, and today is another day! And again, this is a salad plate, so it makes it look like so much more food! Today marks my 3rd weigh in at Weight Watchers after fully committing to the program on December I know I am being accountable.
I know I am in control of what I put in my mouth. And I know if I keep it up, the weight will come off eventually. So my question to you? What is your favorite apple — have you heard of any of those before? I plan on continuing to add to it too — any favorite songs you think I should add, I am all ears. You guys will want to stick around to the end of this post for the perfect turkey burger — so juicy and low in smart points! Which made it feel like 20 degrees, and I wanted it to feel like 40 degrees. My only saving grace was that the rain held out until I got into the office! I looked outside before I went on my lunch walk to see if anyone was using umbrellas, because the I was going to hit the gym.
But with temps near 40 I really, really wanted to walk outside. But holy balls was it windy! So windy at some points when I was at a stop light, I had to hold onto something in order not to feel like I was being blown over! I was happy I had leftover frozen lasagna soup for lunch — this time with baby kale and leftover spaghetti.

Work was super busy, and before I knew it was time to head home. Some of these songs just make me smile, some make me sing like I am at karaoke night, and some I just like the lyrics. While the Eminem song might seem weird, I particularly like this lyric:. While I lost my shoe in the quicksand, I am standing on two feet firmly on the ground. I feel in control. And you know what? It feels pretty good. Sometimes you just have to believe in yourself.
To not let the chaos of daily life get in the way of what you want. There are 86, seconds in each day, and I want to make the most of however many seconds I have left on this earth. So I did a bit of research on how to make a better turkey burger, i. For the last couple minutes I added my trusty meat thermometer and went to refill my water and came back and my burger was done!
How to make the perfect turkey burger — just add a pat of butter to the patty! Holy cow, was this a great burger. Can you see how juicy this burger is?! Perfect for a weeknight dinner, especially if you form the patties in the fridge before work, and just let them sit on the counter for 15 minutes before cooking while you check the mail and switch into your pajamas as soon as you walk in the door. Thanks Jennie-O for letting me be a Ambassador — and hoping I can share my new found love of ground turkey with all of you.
You can check out their Facebook page and Twitter page for more recipe inspiration. H Here is some Wednesday Wisdom:. You can imagine after having a food blog for any amount of time, you get your share of offers. I had to do a google search on my blog and realized the last time I used ground turkey was in After last nights dinner, I am kicking myself for not using this product more often! Gah, sorry about the awful kitchen lighting.
Guys — FOUR ounces of ground turkey is only 1 smart point. EIGHT ounces is only 3 points! The only thing I needed to buy was the coleslaw mix. I got 20 wontons out of this recipe, or one smart point per wonton. Jennie-O Turkey Potstickers Make a family night of it in the kitchen, and dinner will be on the table in 20 minutes. Ingredients 8 ounces extra lean Jennie-O ground turkey 1 cup coleslaw mix 1 tablespoon Szechwan stirfry sauce 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger salt and pepper 20 wonton wrapper skins 1 teaspoon grapeseed oil Instructions In a large pan, put about an inch of water in the bottom of the pan.
Most wonton wrappers say to cook first with oil, then steam to finish, but when I do that, I lose the crispy bottom, which is what I love — the combo of the crunch and the chew of the wontons. Place 10 wrappers on your board at a time. Place a small cup of water to the side. Mix everything together to combine. Using just less than a full teaspoon, fill each wonton with the turkey mixture. Use your finger and dip that into water and brush your wet finger on two sides of the wonton. Press together to seal and crimp.
Once your water is simmering, place the wontons I made them in two batches in your pot and cover with a lid. Cook with the lid off until the bottoms are crisp. These are the wonton skins that I use. I found them at Wal-mart — they will be in the produce section where all the pre-packaged veggies are. Yep, had to use the shelf on my lamp to take these pictures! But seriously, this literally took about 20 minutes from beginning to end, and if you have a family, you could divide and conquer and do an assembly line — one person puts the mix in the wontons, another one seals it shut with water, and another to crimp and cook.
I made some steamed broccoli on the side and did just a drizzle of sriracha, more so for the color than the spice, because I think the Szechwan sauce is very flavorful spicy. Cannot wait for burger night tonight. Here was the rest of my day: So now the question of the day is: How many of you have used Jennie-O turkey? What is your favorite recipe using ground turkey? I am all ears! Guys — I had my first full weekend off this past weekend — the first time in months!
It was so nice leaving the office at 5: So much time for activities! I have to share my new favorite breakfast. This giant plate of food is only 4 smart points and so filling. Before I knew it, it was time to hit the road, and because Hannah was driving, we picked up some time on the road because we were running a tad bit behind.
Freshly showered, make up on — even lipstick! We had such a fun night — I laughed until I cried, and then laughed again. I made my beef barbacoa — so good! This time I made it with a bottom round roast and it was so tender and delicious. Each line represents ounces so you know exactly how many points you are drinking. I had 8 ounces of wine for 7 smart points.

You will be so proud of me that I actually counted the points for my wine! I wish I would have had this when Tony was alive. Thanks for being the photographer! I told everyone to take a silly picture — but I guess my sister and I were the only ones who did — this picture makes me laugh!! Thanks for hosting Momma — it was a fun night! As we were driving home, I took my piece of paper of everything I ate and drank and entered it into my WW app — it came in at exactly 24 points! I wondered what made some people more successful than others, and when I stumbled upon this post on Weight Watchers connect, it really hit home with me.
While motivation is a factor, persistence is the name of the game. It can literally be affected positively and negatively by ANYTHING…good or bad choices… hormones…an unexpected complement…an old photo…the weather…a strange look from the guy who poured your morning cup of joe…the way your two-year old acted before breakfast on a Tuesday morning. We all have days OR weeks OR months when motivation just seems like it is nowhere to be found.
