A Few Fiends to Tea
A Few Friends to Tea by Virginia Coffman - FictionDB
Size and distance illusions occur because of the brain's amazing capacity for perceptual constancy: To achieve size consistency, the brain "fixes" the perceived size of objects using hints it receives about distance. Under certain conditions, hints from the environment lead the brain to judge the size of a person or object to be much larger or smaller than it really is. That is why the family appears to be a group of tiny people standing in a giant cup. Care to join us in a cup of tea?
To get your whole family inside a cup, you'll need: A camera A cup At least 3 members of your family or a few friends The photographer will: Place the entire group against a solid background a wall, an ocean setting, etc.
Category: We invite a few friends over for a cup of tea
Position a chair about 4 meters in front of the group, and place a cup on the chair. I really liked a lot of what she was talking about in this book: She's a intriguing enough writer for me to seek out at least one of her Gothic novels - maybe one of the Lucifer Cove books since I intend to write about witchcraft in the detective and crime novel next year for Bev's challenge.

I'd like to see what Coffman does when writing in her comfort zone. Under a few male pseudonyms she wrote a couple of stand-alone crime novels.
I suspect they are more suspense as in this case rather than detection. It's possible she wrote this to be a gothic romance and eventually realized it was getting too dark for the genre and tried to salvage it with the vigilante plot-line. Like Yvette, I used to be much more of a romance reader and vaguely remember Coffman's name.
