But hey, it's written by a guy who will tell you how gorgeous he is, what six pack abs he has, and how many people fall at his feet, so it must have something going for it, right? I don't know what that thing is, but apparently some people do. There are some nice recipes for smoothies in this book but it's not as useful to me as I'd hoped because it relies completely on one brand of protein powder. It contains stevia, which I can't have, and since there is no discussion of different types of protein powders, which are the basis for the smoothies, there are no choices offered that might have helped me out.
For that reason, I can't give it any more than 2 stars. If they ever re-release it with more choices of protein sources, it would make it a MUCH more useful book.

Protein powders can be consumed at any time of day. The two I recommend for this recipe are much lower in calories than other brands but still very high in protein, which is why I love them so much. I hope you enjoy the smoothie if you try it! I love Jamba Juice smoothies! I love the one with peach and mango in it. Now I will have to remake my own favorites too! I love jamba, but it is crazy how much it costs!! I got a fancy new blender for my birthday Ninja!! She pretty much recited what is drilled in the generic fitness magazines and how muscles are made and how protein is pretty much the most important nutrient.

Yep, this has it all and is SO easy! Regardless of which method you prefer, it will still be super creamy and ice-cream like, although it may be more frozen ice cream versus melted ice cream! If you are in the former camp normal ice-cream like , consider using less milk than normal.

Whether you like a super chocolatey smoothie or just a hint of chocolate goodness, this can be adjusted based on your preferences! I usually go VERY heavy on the cocoa powder, often combining dark cocoa powder with normal cocoa powder. For those with nut allergies, sunflower seed butter or soy nut butter are two favorites! Regardless, this healthy smoothie is completely paleo, vegan, gluten free, dairy free and naturally sweetened! Unlike my other protein powder recipes, this one CAN use a whey based protein powder. Besides the usual brown rice protein powder , casein protein powder or paleo protein powder I recommend, I enjoy the taste of this whey based one.
Regardless of which one you choose, ensure you like the flavor. Some can be incredibly overpowering or result in a mud-like texture.
