Leave No Girl Behind: How to Help Girls Become the Change in Our World

These women need to be liberated and released from their suffering. We asked ourselves what we could do to support the rights and dreams of women. The sisters started a non profit organisation called Leave no Girl Behind in At first they mentored girls on a small scale, speaking to them about confidence and self worth. We have sessions with girls and women worldwide through Skype and we also send them material. In this book, they talk about how girl empowerment affects everyone. If parents empower their daughters, their daughters will become self sufficient, confident women and they will in turn have children who they will teach confidence as well, whether these children are boys or girls.

Make individuals realise the importance of creating a world where women are not just treated fairly but equally. This is also a Leave No Girl Behind initiative.

At 1pm, people from across these countries will blow bubbles and make a pledge to do something to further the rights of women and girls worldwide. At the end, it takes one pledge to lead to another and another and eventually we will start seeing a big change. When every girl senses her entitlement to empowerment, her energy and actions will improve our planet.

This is a tremendously inspiring book, filled with the voices of women and girls from around the world. And some pretty great men too! I will certainly keep it to share with my daughter when she's a bit older, as there is much wisdom to be found within these pages.

I am a tremendous fan of Haseena Patel and Shameema Patel due to the incredible, measurable, and highly impactful advocacy these two indefatigable ladies put forth day-in and day-out stewarding a vital message that assists young girls around the world understand, cultivate, channel, and share their own sense of self-worth, importance, value, and responsibility to society to not only have their voice heard, but to act for the betterment of themselves and society.

As a person who has benefited deeply by grasping the wisdom shared by the Patel sisters through their action, it was with a critical eye that I took the time to carefully read Leave No Girl Behind. Haseena Patel and Shameema Patel have created an incredible, highly-evolved, easily accessible, and thoughtful guide for girls and women of all ages to live by.

In this masterfully executed publication that includes several delightful, meaningful, and valuable passages by several other leading authorities on social responsibility and empowerment, each easy to read chapter was with great purpose. In fact, taking the time to pause between chapters to think about what was shared, I recall, as I do now, having a big grin on my face as the shared wisdom didn't just make sense for young women, but instead was a universal message I was able to easily identify with. With respect to the primary focus group Leave No Girl Behind was intended for, let me say this as a child advocate dedicated to and operating around the world attempting to prevent children from being abducted and trafficked, while also assisting bring home many previously kidnapped children: Leave No Girl Behind by Haseena Patel and Shameema Patel is a critically important, well-written publication that every young women and perhaps every not-so-young adult of all genders should read.

In the wisdom and road-map shared, there is a direct path that if followed, will clearly lead to a valuable life filled with wonderment, happiness, and magic. In summary, the message I took away after reading Leave No Girl Behind was that freedom is a choice presented to each of us no matter what the circumstances or challenges we face in our own unique environment.

In order to obtain freedom - which is worth fighting for - each of us will be confronted with unique situations or circumstances that may cause us to lose our identity and inevitably our freedom. However, by understanding our own inner values and morals. And when we do this, not only do we live in freedom, but the world becomes a magical place.

I call this Living in Uhuru. Unfortunately, in many cultures and societies around the world, the expectation for women to rise up and live in Uhuru is difficult and, tragically, not expected.

There is no question that every young girl and every parent should read Leave No Girl Behind.

However powerful their work is, few have inspired me the way this book has. Just by reading this book and supporting their work is some way, we all get the opportunity to change the world, by changing the information and opportunities offered to young woman around the globe.
