A book of delicately interwoven stories or angels performing Christmas miracles for people desperately in need. It reminds you that a miracle isn't always a huge miracle such as curing cancer which would be miraculous , but sometimes just a small act of kindness truly can change someone's entire life. The Angels will always have a special place in my life and I'm glad to be a part of their Christmas miracle.

I wasn't so keen on the heavy-handed religious overtones, but I guess they were to be expected in a book of this nature. The story was heartwarming and it was wonderful to read about people being kind to one another for a change. But once again, I got tripped up by a writer who insisted in overusing the characters' names in the dialogue -- people simply do not constantly call each other by name when speaking to one another.

The Angels are killed on Christmas Eve in an accident and must perform 3 miracles apiece to determine if they get to heaven. They accomplish this and the story ends on a happy miracle. I could not put the book down as I waited for them as they attempted to meet their heavenly assignments.

Loved this and left me feeling very good. Renewed my faith again. Beautiful ending and no not going to say how it ends but I was crying happy tears. Please keep writing your books seems like I have catching up to do on my reading lol. Angels Great story about Angels blessing and faith also saving lives and adopting children to stay together than splitting siblings to love. This was a wonderful read for Christmas- or for anytime of the year. Emotional, feel good, and spiritual.

It reminds us of what the true meaning of Christmas is. I enjoy Graham's writing, I really do. There were parts of this that made me smile. But, the heavy use of "Biblical angels", I just couldn't Do you know why the first thing an angel says is "Fear not" when they appear in the Bible? Because they do not look like normal people!

They are hella scary looking! The Bible is pretty clear about that. So yeah, lets angels take on other forms when on Earth, that would have been cool. But in that middle ground? Nope, should have been scary lo 2. Nope, should have been scary looking.

I am a huge fan of Heather Graham and this book is just one more reason. This is a quick run through of the story, without too many spoilers. The story is about a childless married couple whose last name is Angel, they are in a terrible accident and both are killed and become Angels in training so to speak.

They each have 3 miracles to preform before midnight on Christmas Eve, they work together to complete their lists and in the end are brought back to life and not Very good and touching story. Monica is promoted to supervisor. As she leaves, she says her goodbyes to Gloria, and to Andrew, who gives her a pocket watch to remember their friendship by. Before parting, Tess gives Monica the keys to the Cadillac, as she is leaving her job to sit at God's feet.

Monica is last shown driving away as the camera pans out over the desert. According to New York Times reviewer Caryn James, John Masius created the first pilot episode for the series, but it was a darker, less hopeful story than the producers wanted. Masius wrote the show as a reflection of his spiritual anger at the time at his two children being born disabled. She described the pilot she received as "upsetting" as it "portrayed angels as recycled dead people with power over life and death".

She initially declined the position, but during a lunch with Andy Hill , then President of CBS, she mentioned the show and suggested he find a producer who would create a show with "loving, joyful" angels that the audience would have to believe in. Williamson stated that she could not stop thinking about the show after that meeting, and eventually called to ask if the position was still open. Though getting the position was no longer a sure thing, she passed up a more lucrative position directing a court drama and went in for an interview with CBS in June During her interview, she states she emphasized that she was a Christian and could only do a show that depicted angels in a way she felt was true to her view of angels and that was respectful towards God.

She also indicated that the pilot should be redone from the beginning, keeping only the characters Monica and Tess, reworked.

The studio agreed with her remarks and hired her. The pilot was filmed in Salt Lake City, Utah and the show was ready on schedule. The first episode aired on September 14, The lyrics to the show's theme song, "Walk With You", are sung at the beginning of each episode by Della Reese. In , Promised Land was launched as a spin-off series, following the Greene family whom Monica had met during one of her cases, as they travel the United States helping those in need.

Four crossover episodes aired during Promised Land ' s three-season run. A variation of the " Madalyn Murray O'Hair petition" urban legend, which claims to seek a ban on religious programming, mentioned the show and appeared via e-mail chains despite O'Hair being deceased since and her original actual religious programming petition to the FCC being rejected in Touched by an Angel received mixed reviews from critics but positive reception from audiences.

However, the series received criticism from some people, calling it "syrupy" [18] [19] earlier reviews were skeptical of the show's first season. The Parents Television Council picked it as one of the best shows for family viewing.
