Jan 20, Cat G. So love the start to this series. From the start I was cracking up at our main character Jane. She has to have the most boring life or so she thinks.

Honestly she's such a klutz and everytime she turns around, something is happening that is embarrassing and you feel for her but can't help but laugh at the situation she puts herself in. I feel she's anything but boring, she just needs to put herself out there to meet everyone.

So far, the first date wasn't a total failure since he was nice but it So love the start to this series. Willis can write anything and make it great. Love this side of her!!!!! Jan 31, Hooked On Books rated it it was amazing. I really like this. The writing is great. Jane is a real girl, not a size 0, model type. She is funny, has low self esteem but has a heart. She just wants every woman wants and she makes a decision to find what she wants.

It may not be the normal way but she does it with grace and without grace. She places a very not normal add and her first encounter is with Mark, a Fireman. The evening starts with some less than graceful tumbles, stumbles and lets just say there are no sinks in the bathroom st I really like this. The evening starts with some less than graceful tumbles, stumbles and lets just say there are no sinks in the bathroom stalls. I am really looking forward to reading more of Jane's experiences, because they are only going to get better with each one.

Standard Romance Story: Fireman Edition by M.S. Willis

Till next time - Sweets Books Jun 29, Cheyenne rated it it was amazing. I absolutely loved this book. This is a story about a girl named Jane who wants to find dates just like in the books she reads. Her first date is Mark the Fireman. Poor Jane has terrible luck. Everything that she had happen to her on her date had me laughing to the verge of tears. This was a wonderful and funny book from the amazing M.

I can't wait to see what happens with Jane's next date in the next installment. Jan 23, Jackie rated it it was amazing. I don't think I've ever laughed out loud so much while reading a book! This book was hilarious! I think it'd make a great sitcom. Poor Jane can't catch a break. I can't wait to read more about her.

I'm used to dark reads from this author and this definitely wasn't dark. It just proves how brilliant of a writer she really is. She can write about anything and it's great! Jan 19, Crystal Marie rated it it was amazing. Honestly, just read this book. And wear pampers cause you will need them from laughing so hard. If you have severe asthma? And don't read it while drinking. Jan 30, Jennifer rated it it was amazing. Laughed so hard First of I was confused Well let me tell you.. I have not laughed so hard in a book in awhile! Anxiously awaiting for Jane's next date! Aug 27, Moriah rated it liked it Shelves: This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. Ask my sleeping husband. This setup worked for me because a the heroine had no body issues. She described herself as big with ample tits and ass, but she was describing herself, not 3.

She described herself as big with ample tits and ass, but she was describing herself, not lamenting. It was funny the first four times. It was great in one small package, but this was clearly the first chapter of a serial. That was in the prologue. To be fair, I never make it to the end of a series with the same heroine because the choices she makes get increasingly stupid, like when the Helping Hands asks Sarah if she wants to go up or down and she says down.

I enjoyed this greatly. I have been a fan of M. Willis since I first read her Estate series, then when she started writing as Lily White. Her usual dark and fucked up books have always been some of my favorites, so it was really cool to see a totally different side of her writing. From blood, gore, and death in her other books to lighthearted, cute, and hilariously funny in this one , Standard Romance Story has left me 5 outrageously funny stars! From blood, gore, and death in her other books to lighthearted, cute, and hilariously funny in this one , Standard Romance Story has left me amazed by M.

Willis' talents… seriously, is there anything this author can't write?!?!?! Fireman Edition is the first story in a series of novellas which follow the character of Jane as she tries to find love in the strangest of ways. We all know how there are the "standard" types of sexy heroes in all romance books… the fireman, the rocker, the billionaire, etc etc.

Well, hang on for a wild ride as Jane dates each of these romance story characters and finds out the hard way that romance isn't always the way we read in these books. This book thrives off the cliche of the sexy fireman that so many of us have fallen in love with in the past and shows that where we may daydream of all the amazing things in these books, when played out in real life things don't always go the way we fantasize.

From Jane's constant clumsiness, to her and Fireman Mark's drunken antics, and the firetruck sex that didn't work out the way we all daydream about… this book is sure to win you over. From page one this book had be laughing my ass off, and it didn't stop until the very end even now, a couple hours later, I am STILL laughing about various scenes. It was silly and quirky and pee your pants from laughing funny, and at times very very awkward what the characters went through- which is part of what made this book so amazing!

I cannot wait for the next story in this crazy series! Jan 21, Miranda Whore rated it really liked it Shelves: Review for Standard Romance Story by M. Willis I have to start this review with a small disclosure. If you are looking for the typical M. Lily White storyline, you are not going to find it here. She has gone into completely different, yet refreshing, territory. Standard Romance Story takes a regular young woman on her journey to find love. Jane is living a mediocre life. She has a crappy job, a crappy apartment, and absolutely no luck in the area of romance.

Finally ready to try something new she places an ad in the personals looking for romance. I cannot tell you the last book that made me laugh out loud, but this one had me laughing so hard I snorted. This serial is going to show us a completely different side of Willis and her ability to manipulate words into consuming stories. As for smut factor? Well, this gets FOUR tragically misused panties … just read it … trust me. Standard Romance Story: Fireman Edition

So, I just finished reading Standard Romance Story: Fireman Edition and I still have tears coming down my face from laughing so hard. Willis is a genius This book is a must read for all romance readers. From the very first page, I knew this book was going to be a keeper. The pages are filled with humor and sarcastic wit. The main character Jane, doesn't have much of a life.

Crappy job at a used bookstore, sm I received this book as a gift in exchange for an honest review. Crappy job at a used bookstore, small apartment, which she has to share with her best friend, and her dating life is practically non existent This leads to Jane placing an ad in the paper. The ad itself is completely hilarious and makes you wonder if someone has actually done this before.

The characters are extremely amusing yet truthful. Jane knows what she wants and goes out to find it. I don't know how many times I've read a romance book and thought "where can I find a man like this. Jane is definitely a chick who I'd want as a best friend. She's sarcastic, gutsy, and I would definitely take her out drinking all the time. This book is better read in private, otherwise people might complain of you laughing too loud, or in my case, snorting too much.

If you are looking for a well-written story that is enjoyable, refreshing, and will provide you with knee-slapping kind of moments, this is definitely the book for you. Five stars isn't enough, but that's all I can give. Grab this book immediately! Reviewed by Jennifer for MNP. Jan 19, Tbird London rated it it was amazing Shelves: I have so missed M. Her stories will either haunt you for weeks or rip your heart out due to the overwhelming emotions she creates. With Standard Romance Story, the Fireman Edition, she took a different approach and had me in tears due to laughing so much.

Jane is what you could consider the boring, plain……well Jane. She works at a used book store, has a male roommate Rich, who is more like a best friend and she is lonely. Her boss is a jerk and she has a special way with old cust I have so missed M. Her boss is a jerk and she has a special way with old customers. After cleaning up a mess from a teenage boy in the romance section of the store the first of many laugh out loud moments she decides she is going to find out if real men are anything like fictional boyfriends.

She grabs numerous books off the shelf and decides to plot her course in this research. She will read what the women did in each book to capture their men and find a real boyfriend that will give those fictional hotties a run for their money. The first date was Mark, the handsome, self-proclaimed bad dater, divorced fireman. The books in this series are not long at all but believe me, if they are all like this one, you will be laughing the whole time you are reading.

We now wait to see how Jane fairs with the next category and if she will learn anything useful in her romance book for the lawyer, which will soon to be released. Jan 31, Megan rated it it was amazing Shelves: The title and synopsis of this book completely peaked my curiosity and OMG I was not disappointed. Poor average Jane has been dealt a pretty crappy hand in life…not as bad as some but still.

She lost her parents, has a crappy job and even crappier boss, and a bleak outlook on love because she has never experienced a positive side. The only thing going for her is her best friend who thinks she is absolutely nutty when she comes up with her unorthodox idea of finding love. I know you tried, and you did good. She groaned at the stiffness in her body, then looked around as she stretched and tried to work out the aches in her muscles.

The fire department station was a large and attractive two-story building nestled in the midst of evergreen trees and copperbush shrubs. Her eyes widened when she noticed the man coming toward her. The guy was an absolutely gorgeous package of masculinity. He wore dark blue station pants and a matching dark blue T-shirt that bulged in its attempt contain his muscles. His brown hair was cut short, his bright blue eyes locked on hers with a gaze so laser-focused it was likely to set her on fire.

Her body responded to him near instantaneously. Her nipples tightened, poking against the fabric of her bra. Her light brown skin flushed warm. Damn, if the man could rev her up with just a look, what could he do when he got his mouth and hands on her? Her knees went a little weak at the thought. She stood there gaping at him as he finally reached her. Her car was busy hissing out clouds of steam. She half expected steam to be coming out of her ears as she ogled this sexy firefighter.

If anything, he was even better-looking up close. His strong, clean-shaven jawline and bright smile caused her heart to skip. While his voice might have disrupted her thoughts, it also sent a bolt of pure desire shooting through her from brain to groin and back. Heat crept up her neck. God, what was wrong with her? But she already had some suspicions. The main thing being this particular man standing so close to her.

Mischief danced in those beautiful blue eyes of his. She swallowed and her throat made a loud click. They had to be the rest of the on-duty fire crew. Wait a minute… She squinted at him, searching her memory. A chest that she ached to run her hands across… Enough, chica!

Get a hold of yourself! But I recognized you right away. Again, what the hell was wrong with her? Was her wolf in season or something? More heat rose up her neck and flushed her face with warmth. His smile had transformed his face into something both cheerful and kind. Thankfully, some of the blunt-force attraction she had for him had lessened enough that she finally started forming coherent thoughts. If anything it had settled in deeper, but it had lost that distracting edge that had scrambled her brain. Now she might be able to think straight again and maybe even talk like an intelligent person for the first time in the conversation.

Luke held his hand out to her. His grip was firm, but not crushing. Now it was her turn to tease. She caught a few appreciative glances, but they were respectful. But the only man setting her body on fire with his gaze was Luke. He also seemed aware of the attention of the other men on her. He turned to face them with a scowl. No kittens to save. You can go on back to polishing the pole.

Gabriela heard a low growl from Luke. Her hunky hero was a shifter—a werewolf. In fact, at this range her inner wolf could tell that all of these men were werewolves. That lit up a bunch of old memories from her time in this town years ago. When had Luke changed? Most people born into a family of two werewolves came into their wolves about midway through puberty. So not only was Luke drop-dead sexy, he was a werewolf. What had she gotten herself into? A lone, pack-less wolf whose car had just ker-ploded on the front lawn of a bunch of sexy male werewolf firefighters.

A recipe for disaster. The other firefighter snorted, giving Luke a wry smile. He raised the hood, propping it up with the rod, and started waving away the billowing steam. Part of her hoped some chitchat about his sister would delay the inevitable moment when Luke turned to her and announced that her car was deader than a dodo bird.

But she was also genuinely curious. That was before her parents had moved her back to Philly the summer before her senior year. All she knew was that he had really grown up well. It was hard to imagine him as the gawky, awkward kid from way back then. Loves working with kids. She took a deep breath, inhaling the scents of green trees and green grass…and melted rubber, hot metal, and smoldering plastic.

She coughed and wrinkled her nose. You planning on staying in town for long? Along with everything else I still own. He remained focused on examining the engine hoses and radiator, but she detected an odd note in his voice. Is that better than a regular trap?

The Firefighter's Mate (MF)

She really needed to get fucked. Hard and fast and soon. An image of a very naked Luke pulling her into his arms and scorching her skin with kisses pushed into her brain with so much detail she could almost feel his hands on her body. Playing with her nipples. Teasing them as she panted for him to take them into his mouth and nip at them… Damn, she was getting herself wet just thinking about it.

Luke lowered the hood again and his brow furrowed.
