This book was great. I loved every minute of it. It's even a devotional! Very powerful and convicting.

They are life-changing words. And they are at the core of the stories related within these pages. Here you will meet both contemporary women and historical figures from around the world-from Joan of Arc to a Midwest high school student to an Olympic athlete. It is divided into daily devotionals, which is nice, but I was way too impatient - I read the entire book in two days! However you read Sister Freaks, read it with the desire to make your own life "freakishly" devoted to God. I would recommend this for anyone who enjoyed the Jesus Freaks books by dc Talk and for anyone who wants encouragement for the journey.

Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. I bought this for our youth group girls overnighter to read inspiring stories to the teens between other activities. I hate to say this because the stories are about wonderful women of God but our girls couldn't have been less interested. They totally zoned out and were completely bored by the stories - far from inspired. Admittedly I found them tedious to get through as an adult so I can't recommend this book.

I will say it wasn't what I expected. I had read Jesus Freaks and was expecting much of the same. Though it wasn't a bad book, it just wasn't one of my favorites. It will certainly remind you how good you've got it.

This book is a very product of true christianity!! If your ever feeling selfish or like your life is so rough read this book to jolt you back into reality. These women in this book know the true meaning of living their lives for Jesus Christ and I only hope to even come a little bit close to there devotion to our Saviour.
