Oakland has quietly been a mecca for people of color for as long as San Francisco has been a mecca for entrepreneurs and inventors. But those incidents are outmatched and outnumbered by the positivity, love, acceptance, and pride that I see each day here in Oakland. The history of the USA has played out on the streets of Oakland time and time again.
