Parkland (Movie Tie-In Edition) (Movie Tie-in Editions)

Not only is the book monumental in scope, it is well-written. I…found the account engrossing. It is hard to believe that a work of this length on a well-plowed subject could still be a page-turner. Few books are as gripping in their narrative, or as telling in their fine detail. This is a book that will make you weep. Powerfully, Reclaiming History evokes the confusion and awful fatefulness, a feeling of the world ripped asunder, that gripped millions at the time. Reclaiming History is the unrushed version of the Warren Commission Report, with all the wrinkles ironed out…Bugliosi lays [the Kennedy assassination] out on a legal pad, pros and cons, discrepancies and all, and comes up with what amounts to an airtight prosecution brief.

Most helpful customer reviews on Amazon. A wonderful tick-tock of the Assassination of President Kennedy. I really do believe this book shows pretty definitively that Oswald shot Kennedy, however unlike the claims of the author that does not end the story. The book makes no attempt to tell us why Oswald did it beyond painting him as a loner loser who wanted to matter, an unsatisfying explanation. It does not explain why the parade route was changed to go past the Texas Book Depository, it does not assure us that Oswald was not in touch with people prior to the shooting, it just proves he was alone during the day of the shooting.

The Giver Movie Tie In Edition

If the route had not gone past the Depository would Oswald have tried from their or was the assassination just a crime of opportunity, the book makes no attempt to answer this question. Basically what I am saying is it does a great job of explaining what it explains, but is not the definitive debunking of conspiracy theories that the author likes to imagine that it is.

However, if you are a Kennedy Assassination buff you should definitely read this book.

  • Vincent Bugliosi has written an extremely well documented book of those days surrounding the assassination of President JFK. Much of what he tells of the insanity at the Dallas PD after the shooting was things I was unaware of. I remember that weekend very well, even though I was only 8 at the time. It was burned into each of our memories. But I always wondered just what all took place once Oswald was in custody.
