Wandering Canalside
I received this book from Goodreads giveaways. This review reflects nothing from being selected to read it. I appreciated this book and I was able to feel a strong connection to the the main character Clara because I am finding my artistic life just like she does. She is struggling to figure out who she is after a difficult time was forced upon her. Travelling to a new country and going through the ups and downs to find her place in the world Jul 28, Vanessa rated it it was amazing.
“Wandering Canalside” Shelf update!
I loved this book! It was a beautiful portrait of expat life in the Netherlands, and an excellent tale of self discovery. I found it uplifting and engaging, and loved the focus Clara had on her needs and her journey. It made me homesick for the time I spent in the Netherlands, and had me cheering for Clara every step of the way!

Patricia Willers liked a quote. You put it away for a little while, and now and again you look in the closet for something else and you remember, and you think, soon.
Wandering Canalside by Patricia Willers
Then it becomes something that is just there, in the closet, and other things get crowded in front of it and on top of it and finally you don't think about it at all. The thing that was your bright treasure. You don't think about it. A loss you could not contemplate at one time, and now it becomes something you can barely remember. This is what happens. Few people, very few, have a treasure, and if you do you must hang onto it. You must not let yourself be waylaid, and have it taken from you.
