Nov 29, Dec 11, A husband of a woman behaves strange, he has a affair with a female werew Jan 14, There is a second book in the series called Moonburn. Jul 14, Okay so, I read this book a little while ago about werewolves. There is a submissive female who was turned against her will, now she's the lowest one in the pack, and is starting to have feelings for their pack alpha.
During the book, the female alpha of the pack goes missing and the submissive female tries to help the alpha find her, and they find her "red manicured nail". In the end the female alpha and twin brother of the alpha kidnap the submissive female and torture her making her believe it's the alpha by which point the alpha and submissive female have started a relationship.
If anyone could tell me what this series is called, or the author it would be greatly appreciated! Nov 17, Its based on werewolves. I can't remember the whole story but a few i know i would like to share. The story was about a girl who was a journalist and lives in US. Then her boss gave her an assignment to interview a man. The man lives in canada. Her boss also gives her a picture of him too. So, she goes to canada and found him in a small town and later on came to know that he's a were wolf. I can't remember the ending, all i know that the journalist fell in love with the alpha male and turned into a werewolf too.
The girl name was i think Ms. If anyone know about that novel, please help me find. Sorry for my bad english: If she hasn't already, the bitch soon enters a period of bleeding and frequent urination called proestrus, which lasts for 7 to 10 days during which her vulva will swell significantly. Following proestrus she will enter actual estrus and blood may be replaced by a clear or yellowish discharge having a very erotic effect on the male.
Nuzzling or sniffing the croup of her tail while in estrus may cause her to flag; that is, lift her tail up to the side and assuming the "lordosis" posture to entice mounting, intromission, and coitus. Estrus lasts 4 to 7 days during which time the bitch is insistent that her dog mate with her over and over as often as possible. The final stage of estrus is called diestrus, and like proestrus lasts 7 to 10 days. During diestrus the bitch will be unreceptive to mating and may sit down or get grumpy with the dog if he attempts to mount her. During and after mating the dog and bitch will spend much time, cuddling, playing, and hunting together, until seven or eight weeks have passed when the bitch loses interest in her mate for a while as she prepares the den and whelps their litter of pups 61 to 63 days after conception.
Denning and Whelping Two or three before a Wolf bitch whelps her puppies, she will sniff around for a place to make a den. If fate allows, she might take up residence in an old den, maybe a foxhole, or rock cave. Well established Wolf packs often use the same denning ground year after year.
Carbon dating of bones around a well established den showed that Wolves had used the same site for almost years. Note that it is only during the early spring, when a bitch prepares to whelp and rear the pups, that either she or the pack lingers around the den site. Failing an established den, the bitch will dig her own. Inexperienced females sometimes dig shallow pits. Rarely a bitch may whelp above ground in the open. In this latter case the pups are usually moved later or may end up dying. Dens are often dug quite large, more than adequate for the bitch and her puppies.
With an entrance half a meter 20 inches wide or more, a tunnel extending 1. The den is a sacred place and the alpha female won't even allow her mate enter, although she may select an assistant from among the pack's other females to help her rear the pack puppies. Wolves love puppies and the entire pack eventually participates in their care. When it's time to whelp, the bitch will enter her den and gives birth to her pups.
The pups are born about 40 minutes apart; the umbilical cord is chewed off by the mother, the puppy is tongue-groomed clean, and then the placenta is eaten. The average litter size is four to six, but up to eleven have been documented. Pups are born sightless and deaf, and unable to maintain their body temperature independently until about three weeks old. Puppies require a lot of motherly devotion in order to survive. Mom will remain in the den for several days straight, licking and feeding the brood, and only after two or three days leave only briefly for a sip of water.
Wolf pups are born quite strong and immediately begin competition with each other to reach mother's nipples. This struggle to suckle also establishes early social ranking. Wolf pups nurse five or six times a day for three to five minutes each feeding. Pups will usually remain in their den for the first three or four weeks of their lives before mother allows them to venture forth into the light.
During this time the mother is quite dependant on her mate and other pack members to bring her food in the form of meat that is often regurgitated for her. Puppiness Wolf pups are whelped from late March to early May.

In northern climates litters may arrive as late as June, and in Southern climates as early as late February. Litter size ranges form one to eleven puppies; with an average of four to six. In areas where there have been intense activities to eradicate Wolves, average litter sizes tend to increase. Puppies that die during or after birth are usually buried by the mother. Sometimes the mother will carry a dead puppy around in her mouth, showing the little corpse to the members of the pack.
It has even been observed where pack members will take turns doing this until someone finally buries the dead puppy. In captivity dead puppies might be eaten, this behavior has never been observed in the wild. When the pups are born the entire pack is filled with excitement.
It is well documented how much adult Wolves love puppies and how every pack member contributes to their care and education. The alpha bitch will not allow any other Wolves to come around when she whelps, not even the alpha male. Later, she might allow a select female to assist her in rearing and nursing the pups. Female Wolves are able to enter "false pregnancy" after estrus if they fail to conceive. While in this condition they lactate and are able to assist the alpha bitch with nursing the puppies. Wolf puppies are born deaf and with their eyes closed. They have large heads and short thin tails.
They tend to be born with dark fur which lightens as they age. For so many years she accepted that she was second class to shifters who could shift. With Gage's help, she's finally able to see her own strength and courage. It was a nice twist and I loved how Gage was always working to help her realize that her disability wasn't all that she was. It was safe with exceptions but the trigger could be a deal breaker for the safety gang.

Other than that, it was drama free. No ages are mentioned for either MC. Both MCs only have eyes for each other. The story does begin with the h waking from a dream with her ONS sleeping next to her. There's some kissing and touching between her and OM before they are interrupted. I wrinkled my nose at this, although not overly descriptive I don't like any mention of an attraction or intimate moments like this if it's not between the MCs.
Also, Marissa's ex from her old pack tries to force her back to him. He's unhinged and for a villain, he wasn't that much of a threat. These two are inseparable from first meeting. It's a slow process, but he is determined and shows her in every way, that a relationship with him would be leagues away from what her ex did to her. Main Pursuer of relationship: Ends on a HEA mating and has a quick epilogue a few weeks later. Mention of her ONS from the begining of the book happens and again, I could have done without the mention of the "great" sex the h had with OM Even if it was before the MCs ever even met hide spoiler ] Apr 21, Emily rated it really liked it Shelves: Thrown out of her pack because she is a non-shifter Marissa Boyd vowed never to set foot on any Pack land again, until her sister begged her to attend her mating ceremony.
Marissa has a plan, support her sister but stay away from the Were's who ignite a passion in her that are difficult to put to rest. Marissa's plans quickly go awry when she meets Pack Alpha Gage who is determined to make her his own. I had been unsure about this book because of the mixed reviews, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Ga Thrown out of her pack because she is a non-shifter Marissa Boyd vowed never to set foot on any Pack land again, until her sister begged her to attend her mating ceremony. Gage has a very charismatic personality that oozes off the page and Marissa with her feisty behavior puts up a fight when Gage tries to lay down the law according to him.
I would definitely continue reading this series. This was a pretty good book. Marissa Boyd attends the mating ceremony of her sister she is not a shifter and is not suppose to be on their land. Gage Wolf is the Alpha of the pack and he and his wolf want Marissa he knows that she is hiding something and he is ready to teach her what it means to belong to him. This was a good read the chemistry between these two was hot. Gage was hot sexy and sweet Marissa was strong.
She finds out that everything she was told was a lie. This was the first book This was a pretty good book. This was the first book in a new series to me and this was my first time reading this author. The book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book.
Apr 10, Delta rated it really liked it Recommends it for: This was more like a 3 star read this time around. Am leaving the original rating Oct 30, Monique rated it really liked it. I have missed reading paranormal romance.
So I was very excited when I found this series. It's full of short PNR reads which are written well and entertaining. I loved the sex scenes! So hot and descriptive without being overly wordy like some authors tend to do when writing such scenes. This had enough drama and plot to keep me entertained.
I would have loved more world building but I know that's diffic I have missed reading paranormal romance.
Pack Alpha (Were Chronicles, #1) by Crissy Smith
I would have loved more world building but I know that's difficult in short reads. But I'm hoping I will get more acquainted with this world after reading more of this book in this series. Looking froward to reading the next book! Jan 29, Whitney rated it really liked it Shelves: Seriously, it was bare bones story and I was wanting more.
Add pages of more interactions, not referenced after the fact and it would've been a favorite in my paranormal category. Oct 19, Erotic Horizon rated it really liked it. Years ago it was drummed into Marissa that she was not pack material and she consequently after leaving has never been back despite how much her inner self long to feel the bond of her pack.
When she meets the current pack alpha Gage she knew immediately that this visit was going to be unlike anything that she has ever experienced in her life. Gage is a strong wolf and an alpha that protect what is his and he consider Marissa one of his own and once he feels the pull of mate bond he knows he was not letting her go despite her refusal to stay.

There is also a secretive edge to Marissa that Gage also has to decipher — and he was man enough to deal with all of Marissa's misgivings irrespective of anything else that she thought. Dirt always rise to the top and when Marissa's old lover comes calling, things are not as cut and dry as it sounds and not only does Gage have a fight on his hand with keeping Marissa on pack land, but Marissa is in high demand and someone refuses to let the matter of her past go.

I found this author through one of my Goodreads friends and I am loving her books so far. Smith really cut to the chase and literally sort the men's from the boy right from a few pages in and it was all smut — and all good. Marissa's was a likeable enough character, beaten down and just trying to get through life as best as she can — she has made alot of sacrifices for her family.
However when her sister wedding looms she knew she had to go and with precise planning — which was to be a quick in and quick out sort of meeting — she brave the hard task of facing her sister new pack. Although she is not able to shift she still has all the other traits of a wolf and it is those senses that refuse to let her ignore Gage. Gage is like a tornado that has touch down and sweeps away everything within his path — he saw Marissa, he wanted her and he took her — as far he was concern that should be the end of the matter. It sounds all Aphalike but Gage have a heart and a deep sense of responsibility and it is this that makes him take on board Marissa's dragons and pound them all into dust.
I love a shifter book and when you toss in some reluctant players as well as a few in house drama — it was all that I needed.. Smith is an author I will be adding to my list of shifters author — I am liking the loads of angst that she brings and the emotional level that she maintain through the length of the book.

I couldn't put myself into Marissas shoes nor Gages or her sisters, The story was being told and suddenly its as if the writer went 'oh i was meant to have a problem and a twist' and so SPLAT it was thrown in and then suddenly 'oh shit what am i meant to do with that' she must of been thinking cause as fast as it was thrown at you it was suddenly sorted out.
The sex scenes where there but everything else was gone, story line nil in void, history nil in void, feel nil in void. I can't say i will be reading this again, it went where all books i feel sorry for go I wish Crissy Smith good luck in future writing. I really liked this book at first. I thought the plot was really interesting or I would have given it a lower rating. I wanted to see why her pack treated her badly. I wanted to see more interaction between her sister and her. I wanted a ton of dynamics Instead I got this troubled girl who meets the alpha from her sisters pack, has sex with him, and then everything is perfect.

We didn't get to see why the her pack treated her bad, we didn't get to see why the pack would want her back, nothing was really settled with her sister. The interview with the council was nonexsistant. She worried so much about it, but we didn't get any details at all.

What a mindless book it turned into. I am so disappointed. I wanted a real story and I got fantasy island. Not my cup of tea. Received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley. Apr 28, Shannon C. Surprisingly good summer read I had never heard of this author but I am a fan of paranormal romance.
In Pack Alpha, I liked the characters and the high levels of suspense. I felt for Marissa's challenges with her disability a shifter who couldn't shift and the mistreatment of her former pack. I actually got teary eyed at one point when she was talking about her wolf being trapped. What a terrible thing to live with. While I liked the leading man, I would have liked a bit more development of his Surprisingly good summer read I had never heard of this author but I am a fan of paranormal romance.
While I liked the leading man, I would have liked a bit more development of his character and the pack overall.
