In my own defence, the second time I ended up in the same clinic, I declined the injection and just asked for some vitamin tablets instead. If somebody broke into my hotel room, he'd be the one getting attacked.

Glad he had no knife and she is okay. All seriousness aside, I thought the phrase "strike her about the buttocks" was funny, like a line from Monty Python. Sorry, but what the heck was this guy thinking?? I hope he got arrested and for a good, long time! Good to know random violence against women is taken as a laughing joke among posters in both Japan Today and Yahoo Japan. Society just gets better every passing day.

You can either laugh about it or cry. Joking about it does not imply that the assault on the lady is being accepted as anything other than the crime that it is. Hopefully she is not so traumatized by the event that she will be able to make light of it someday herself. The likelihood however is an increased feeling of insecurity. No one is making light of that.

As the two were apparently not related in any manner other than "acquaintance", this doesn't count as "domestic violence". Don't know what the big deal is about. I do this all the time. Where is the excuse that he was drunk at the time? You can't make ths stuff up. Spanking with a shoehorn? They walk among us! Kobe White Bar Owner. Staff training left much to be desired. Especially for a five star hotel, the banquet service is very inexperienced. The hotel rooms still have the "new hotel smell" which means paint and plastics! If you are sensitive to these kinds of smells then I would wait at least another year to book here.

I would recommend the hotel to focus on staff training and get all the details just right. One can see the ambitions in the design of the hotel but the customers will also expect a similar level of care in all aspects of the stay. We stayed there with a 1 year old for 3 nights. We wrote to the hotel an email 2 days in advance to request for baby related facilities such as a baby cot.

No response was heard and when we arrived, they said they did not hear from us and that there was no baby cot available for the 3 nights. We were told that we were offered an upgrade to the executive floor which means we could enjoy a better room. However, our friend staying at a lower floor without an upgrade got a bigger room than us! We actually had bought a more expensive package than our friend.

That's disappointing and as if we were being cheated. In the morning at the breakfast buffet, we asked if we could get some congee for the baby. The first waitress said no more congee is available. We can't believe it as we just went out and saw a big pot of congee there. So we asked another waitress and she got us a bowl of congee. We thanked her and said we need 2 bowls and would like to take away. We found it very funny.

Anyway, at that moment, another waiter came along, and we believed he is a more senior waiter there. Then he politely confirmed us that we could take the congee away and asked that waitress to get us another bowl of congee. So our feeling is that the staff there are not properly trained yet and there are still rooms of improvements. But to be fair to them, the hardware there were good. They provide L'Occitane toiletery and they refill fresh fruits every day. I hardly ever gave such low comments to a hotel. This newly opened hotel in Taichung gained its reputation by its "design".

The whole experience of our stay had been very disappointing. The overall design of this much talked about hotel is tacky. Different sections of the building are not consistent, almost chaotic. Staff is not helpful and they show their lack of enthusiasm on their faces which really surprised me. The only upside is that the rooms are brand new and spacious. Think twice before you book this hotel. My stay is still on going.

Was here for 9 days to work a baseball tournament. First time in four visits I was not at the same hotel. The location is good, especially for our trips to the ballparks as we are closer to the freeway. Room is huge and very nice. Bed was soft, especially for Asia, and the air conditioner can be cranked down which is important.

Huge TV, with several English channels. Booked for one night but stayed 2 nights instead due to change of our itenary. We booked a quad share with 2 queen beds and one king bed twin sharing connecting room. The first night room rate included Japanese eel rice set and Chirashi set dinner. The Eel rice was good but the Chirashi set had sea urchin that tasted off. We informed the restaurant and it was promptly replaced with one scallop.

Heard from our Taichung friends later that the Japanese restaurant was not one of those that he would go to. Included was also afternoon snacks the lobby lounge which has a nice spread of snacks, cakes, made to order pizza and pasta, the children loved it. Due to the last minute change to stay one more night, we could not stay in the same rooms but were upgrade free to executive floor rooms which have the floor to ceiling rooms.

Breakfast has a huge variety and the food is good. Their buffet dinners seems to be popular with the locals and was packed. We didn't have time to try though. Next to the hotel is a small shopping mall Tiger City Mall for some retail therapy.
