Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. I have read four of the Mary Russell novels and this one is my favourite. I really enjoy the relationship between Mary and Sherlock. She is bold, bright, brave and a fitting partner for the great detective.

I loved Palestine, I loved Mary's relationship with the land, her profound knowledge of its history and the Jewish faith. Moriarty is a worthy opponent for this pair and this little side trip to escape the villain's machinations was wonderful, especially at such a crucial time in the history of Palestine - eighteen months after the Great War. Read all the novels but this one should be read second, it is where it fits. One person found this helpful.
King is a great author! Well plotted, but bit rambly like much of King's work. I am a great fan, but always find myself losing interest at some point as she gets sidetracked. Still, I come back for more.
